Meet Scarlett Epstein, BNF (Big Name Fan) in her online community of fanfiction writers, world-class nobody at Melville High. Her best (read: only) IRL friends are Avery, a painfully shy and annoyingly attractive bookworm, and Ruth, her weed-smoking, possibly insane seventy-three-year-old neighbor.

When Scarlett’s beloved TV show is canceled and her longtime crush, Gideon, is sucked out of her orbit and into the dark and distant world of Populars, Scarlett turns to the fanfic message boards for comfort. This time, though, her subjects aren’t the swoon-worthy stars of her fave series—they’re the real-life kids from her high school. And if they ever find out what Scarlett truly thinks about them, she’ll be thrust into a situation far more dramatic than anything she’s ever seen on TV…

Hilarious, spectacular, extraordinary.

I was blown away by SCARLETT EPSTEIN HATES IT HERE , and it craving for another ANNA BRESLAW book, when I reached the end of this one. This book been on my to read for a long time, and now that I have read it, I wish that I didn’t wait this long to check it out. SCARLETT EPSTEIN HATES IT HERE is a book that will have you laughing on several occasions, but at the same time it will have you feeling a lot more other emotions. It roller coasters ride. A book that you cannot help but fall in love with. This book did take few pages until I got into the story, and once I did, I was hooked and I had force myself to put the book down few times. I even read it until late few times, because I lost track of time. I loved that the fanfiction that Scarlett wrote was mentioned and I loved reading her fanfiction story, which hooked me into story even more. I used to write fanfiction years ago, before I stared writing short stories and books, and it felt as I could relate to Scarlett in a way. Scarlett is a type of character that you cannot help but love, and out of all characters in the book, she was one of my favorites.

Ruth, which was another favorite character of mine. She’s the type of character, friend that will make you laugh, no matter what sort of day you were having. To me, it seemed as Ruth looked out for Scarlett, as if she was her daughter. And Scarlett knew that she could come to her if she had a question or if she needed advice. My heart broke for Scarlett after what happened with Ruth, and I couldn’t even imagine what she must thought, considering that Scarlett wasn’t aware that Ruth was sick. Even I didn’t see it coming, and like Scarlett, I was in complete shock over it. There was even a part of me, wanting to pull Scarlett into a hug as well. That was one of my favorites about this book, the story felt realistic to me, and I know that it is something that could actually happen in real life and is easy to connect and relate to characters that way. I wasn’t sure what to think of Gideon at first, I had mixed feelings about him, and wasn’t sure if I liked how he treated her. One minute he was laughing with her, spending time with her and next he was pushing her away. It was as if he couldn’t make his mind about her. Of course I couldn’t help but wonder if the two of them would end up together.

A moving, realistic story. SCARLETT EPSTEIN HATES IT HERE You will laugh, and a book that I would highly recommend to anyone. A story that you will find yourself thinking about afterwards.
