Worlds divide, magic slays, and love lies in the second book of Josephine Angelini’s The Worldwalker Trilogy.

"You think I’m a monster, but my choices, as ruthless as they seem, are justified."

Lily is back in her own universe, and she's ready to start a new life with Rowan by her side. True, she almost died in the Pyre that fueled their escape from New Salem, and must hide her magic for the safety of everyone she cares about, but compared to fighting the Woven, the monstrous creatures inhabiting the alternate Salem, life is looking pretty good.

Unfortunately, Lillian, ruthless ruler of the 13 Cities, is not willing to let Lily go that easily. If she can’t persuade Lily to return to her world, she will force her to come back by doing away with the ones she loves.

“Do you know what it means to be a survivor? It means that not only do you have to live through things; you have to live with them as well. The second part is much harder and sometimes it takes the rest of your life to learn how to do it. But at least you have the rest of your life…”

I have no words, I can’t even begin to explain the emotions that are going through me right now. I can’t seem to gather the words. FIREWALKER is a third book that I read by JOSEPHINE ANGELINI and I know that it won’t be my last, because I am in love with her writing and her story, now that’s an author that has an imagination that will have you falling in love with story from first page. I have been craving FIREWALKER the moment that I finished TRIAL BY FIRE last year and now that I have, I am eager for the next book to come out and not sure if I can wait till 2016. I want to know what happens with everyone next, especially Lily. What challenges and adventures will she have to face next? Will she face Rowan again and what will happen when she does? Even though I finished a bit ago I am still thinking about it all. By middle of the book, I felt like I know all of these characters, as if they were my friends, so of course I am curious to see what happens next. How can you not help but wonder?

LILY, ROWAN : I love the two of them together, out of all the couples in the series, the two of them are my favorites. From the moment that the two of them met in TRIAL BY FIRE I could see that there were connection between two of them, and I knew that there was a reason that Lily claimed him. She loves them and the two of them belong together. The way that Rowan cared for her when she was burned and in general how he was around her, the way that he looked at her. When the two of them were together, it was like nothing else mattered. I was sure that nothing could break the two of them apart. Apparently I was wrong. I felt as heartbroken as Lily did when Rowan ripped off her willstones after he found out about Lillian. Some part of me understands why he did it, he was hurt. But another part, he should heard her out. Of course I also felt that maybe if Lily showed him the memories Lillian showed, maybe it could had a happier outcome for both of them. I am curious to see what happened with them next, I will be rooting for them to patch things up, it might take some time but I am hoping for the best. The two of them need each other.

TRISTAN How can you not love Tristan? I wasn’t his biggest fan in the first book, but he grew on me here. You can tell how much he cares for Lily, how much he loves her. I actually felt bad for him. Even though I am still rooting for Rowan to end up with Lily, I don’t think it would be all that bad if he ended up with her. I can’t even begin to imagine how it must been for him to watch the girl he loves, with somebody else. I still can’t get over what happened to him at the end, just when I start to like him, something like that happens to him? Part of me hoping that part is not real but just a dream. That’s one of the parts that had my emotions everywhere. It just too much. I can’t even begin to imagine how Lily feels, she went through so much, and honestly I don’t know how she managed to deal with so much. That’s what I love about her, she’s brave and she will do anything to protect her friends, family. I just hope she has a happy ending in the end of it all.

As I said, I love books that deal with witches or witchcraft of any kind. I got to confess that this was one of the best; it’s unlike any book that I read that dealt with witches. It’s unique and a type of story that will have your attention till end, and afterwards you will be craving for next one. I know that this was fictional book but every event, everything that Lily and her friends went through, felt real. I could picture everything and that made the story much more real to me. It brought the story and characters to live for me. A series that is worth every single page. Beautifully written. Be ready for a thrilling ride.

It's cold outside, but the drama is hot!

The Diamond sisters jet to the mountains for spring break, and Savannah's flirt-mance with an international pop star heats up as her pursuit of stardom succeeds. But is this romance meant to be, or has the right guy been in front of her all along? Meanwhile, Courtney takes the next step with her secret boyfriend—and future stepbrother—and as their parents' wedding approaches, the pressure's on to reveal their relationship.

Peyton's figuring out a plan for her future, but she still feels guilty about getting her former bodyguard fired and wonders if she can get over him in the arms of someone else. But the biggest bombshell will change everything once again, because Madison's ready to tell the huge secret she's uncovered. And with the boy who betrayed her but who could be the love of her life fighting for his own life, she might need the Diamond sisters more than ever.

MICHELLE MADOW did it again! A super conclusion to another astonishing series. Ever since that cliffhanger in DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH I have been wondering what’s going to happen next. Most of all I was curious about Oliver, wondering if he was going to be okay and how Madison was handling all this. Most of all I was curious if secret that Madison was their sister would come out and who would be the one to tell them. At start I wasn’t fond of Madison and Oliver but as book progressed, it got hard for me not to like the characters, if anybody changed through the series, it was two of them. I was rooting for Oliver make it through, and I was rooting for Madison and Oliver to get together, there was a real connection between those two and not just a friendship. I just wished that she would tell Oliver how she feels and I have feeling that if her and Savannah didn’t talk, she wouldn’t have. You couldn’t help but wonder what will happen with everyone, even as you come to the end of the book.

Diamond Sisters: You can see a big change in all of the sisters since the beginning of the series. The three of them weren’t just sisters but in process also became best of friends. No matter what was going on in their life, what secrets they had discovered, in the end they were always there for each other. In a way they remind me a lot of some of my friends, who is like a sister to me. I felt that I could relate to them in a way. I didn’t think that they would be able to accept Madison as their half-sister, especially Peyton but Peyton surprised. I know that how she treated them is a reason that they hesitated to but I am glad that they gave her chance. I think it because they saw how she changed since finding out that they were their sisters. It was hard for even me to dislike her and I hoped that the diamond sisters would see it as well. Most of all I was glad for all Diamond sisters to get their happily after, especially with everything that they had deal with, they deserved it.

I loved how family oriented this book was. It didn’t just deal with romance but friendship, family, acceptance, forgiveness with a bit mystery added into mix. Plus it takes place in Vegas where I had always wanted to go. After reading the series, I’m craving to go there even more. DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER was a book that I couldn’t put down till I reached the end because I wanted to see how everything would end. However once I reached the end, I was sad because to me it felt like I was saying goodbye to my friends. Through the series I felt like I got to know each of characters so well, that they became real to me. There wasn’t a single book, a single page that I didn’t enjoy. I have been reading Michelle’s books since we became friends back in 2012 and I can tell that this author going go a long way. A book that is worth every single page. I can’t wait to read Michelle’s next adventure.

Laia is a slave.

Elias is a soldier.

Neither is free.

Under the Martial Empire, defiance is met with death. Those who do not vow their blood and bodies to the Emperor risk the execution of their loved ones and the destruction of all they hold dear.

It is in this brutal world, inspired by ancient Rome, that Laia lives with her grandparents and older brother. The family ekes out an existence in the Empire’s impoverished backstreets. They do not challenge the Empire. They’ve seen what happens to those who do.

But when Laia’s brother is arrested for treason, Laia is forced to make a decision. In exchange for help from rebels who promise to rescue her brother, she will risk her life to spy for them from within the Empire’s greatest military academy.

There, Laia meets Elias, the school’s finest soldier—and secretly, its most unwilling. Elias wants only to be free of the tyranny he’s being trained to enforce. He and Laia will soon realize that their destinies are intertwined—and that their choices will change the fate of the Empire itself.

There are two kinds of guilt. The kind that's a burden and the kind that gives you purpose. Let your guilt be your fuel. Let it remind you of who you want to be. Draw a line in your mind. Never cross it again. You have a soul. It's damaged but it's there. Don't let them take it from you.

Just that quote alone had a lot of emotions go through me. Have you picked a book and second you read, it had you wishing you picked it up earlier? Second that I started to read AN EMBER IN THE ASHES I was blown away, by the characters and the story. I have been hearing a lot about this novel from moment it came out, and I had to check it out. I am so glad I did because I was sucked into story from first page. A type of novel that I wished I had more time to read and if I did, I wouldn’t stop reading it. There was something about the book, maybe it was the story, the characters of the voices of characters but once you pick it up, you won’t be able to put it down. AN EMBER IN THE ASHES was unexpected, it wasn’t anything that I had expected it to be but much better. It’s not a surprise that it got nominated for best debut author. I can already see that the series and author going go a long way. I just finished the first one and already craving for the sequel.

LAIA, ELIAS, KEENAN Did you ever come across characters that you had trouble determining who you preferred? That’s a problem that I came across in AN EMBER IN THE ASHES . Elias or Keenan? I loved them both from start of the book, to the end. It was clear that both of them cared about Laia, just way they were around her. Though I got admit that in beginning of the book I was rooting for Laia and Keenan, the way he was around her anytime that she checked it with resistance, he cared about her. He even tried to warn her about the resistance. If he didn’t care about her, he wouldn’t put his life in danger. It’s hard for me to tell how Laila feels, which feelings are stronger. Elias of Keenan. As for Elias, he was only one of soldiers who actually treated her like a human, instead like a slave. There were multiple times that he came to her rescue. He cares for her more than he is willing to admit. The question is what is going happen between them next?

Now Laia, she was my favorite character. She was strong and brave. Considering what she went through, what she lasted. She made it much longer than anyone thought she would. Now that’s a family love, that she is willing to go undercover, to pose as a slave in order to save her brother. If I were in her situation I wouldn’t lasted a day. Now that takes a lot of courage and a dedication. You can’t help but love the character and find yourself rooting for her. I loved everything about her. A astonishing debut novel, it’s hard to believe that it’s her first novel. I am eager to find out where her journey will lead us next.
