It can.

She believes there must be more to the accident she can’t remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed.
There is.

She doesn’t believe that after everything she’s been through, she can fall in love.
She’s wrong.

I have been hearing about this book, on and off since it came out. I remember seeing a hype that everyone seemed to have about this series, how excited a lot of people seemed be to read this book. I got curious and put on my to read list. It wasn’t until this year when I finally picked up THE UNBECOMING OF MARA DYER and it wasn’t long where I wished that I picked up sooner. I could see why so many loved this book. I fell in love with this book only few pages in, I was hooked into Mara’s, into Noah’s story. I had a feeling that something was going to wrong, from beginning when Mara, Rachel and Claire played with Ouja board. However I never imagined that there were a chance that there is possibility that Mara could be responsible for what happened. Like Mara, I had a feeling that something was off about her, something wasn’t right. It had me curious about her, I wanted to find out what she was capable of, was possible.

THE UNBECOMING OF MARA DYER was filled with a lot of anticipation, mystery. I don’t think there was a single page that didn’t have you wondering what happens next. For me, it was a hard book to put down, I wanted to keep on reading, I wanted to see what happens next. I wanted to find out what Noah and Mara would discover. Most of nights, 2 more chapters would turn into me reading for 4 hours. Just when I was sure that it would be last chapter, a cliffhanger would have me turning to the next chapter and next. I know I would read the book faster, if I didn’t have to work. THE UNBECOMING OF MARA DYER is one of those stories that I will never forget. I was still thinking about when I came to the end, especially after that ending, how can you not be curious about what would happen next. I know that I did.

I loved the friendship that Mara and Daniel had. The two of them seemed more like best friends than siblings. It looked like she was close to all her family, most of time. However her and Daniel and Mara seemed to have a special bond, they were always there for one another when needed. I don’t think it’s often when siblings have a friendship the way that Daniel and Mara have. Of course, I loved Mara. I did feel bad for her for everything that she went through. The bond, the attraction that Noah and Mara had, was special and I feel that there was a reason that the two of them were brought together. Yet, after that unexpected twist at the end of the book, I can’t help but wonder what is going to happen next. What would happen to Mara? I aleready know that Mara Dyer is a series that I am going to love. I am eager to see what’s to come next.

Love fantasy? Love Suspense with some romance in mix? Pick up THE UNBECOMING OF MARA DYER you won’t put it down once you do. A magical, thrilling story.

In Seaside, North Carolina, there are two kinds of people: Marines, and kids of Marines. Then there’s Kat Chandler. Recently hired as the principal of Seaside Elementary, Kat makes it her mission to turn the school into a place of peace and calm. That’s not going to be easy with hard-liner parents like Micah Peterson storming in, telling her how to do her job—and then kissing her with those gorgeous lips of his and turning her brain into mush.

As a Marine Sergeant and a single dad, Micah Peterson has just two priorities: doing his job better than anyone else, and getting the absolute best for his son, Ben. But when he meets Ben’s beautiful new principal, a different yearning shifts into focus. He wants her, sure, but he’s also moved by the connection Kat forges with her students. So after learning that she refuses to date Marines, Micah sets two more objectives: convincing Kat to give him a chance . . . and then holding on to her forever.

I’m not sure why, but I had always enjoyed stories that dealt with military. It could be that half of my family was in Military, and I always found those stories Captivating. WELCOME TO FOREVER was part of buddy read that I was doing with a close friend of mine, Sam. If it’s one person, it’s her that I have to thank for coming across this novel. After few pages, I was captivated into Micah and Kat’s story and I had force myself to put it down. Only reason it took me this long to finish, was due to my hectic work and life schedule otherwise I would finished it sooner. WELCOME TO FOREVER was the first book that I read by ANNIE RAINS and it won’t be the last time. I am eager to see what other stories she came up in the series. I feel like I should be picking up the next book in series. There are almost no words to describe how much I loved this book.

I could see from their first meeting, the connection, the attraction that Kat and Micah had. Just the way that the two of them interacted with one another. At start, I didn’t think that she would let him in, that it would work. Even though couple years passed since John’s passing, it was clear that Kat wasn’t over him, especially since she still had his engagement ring. She was still grieving. I could see that her attraction for Micah grew, even if she tried to deny it. Especially once she found out that he was Marine. I could tell how hard she was fighting with her feelings for him. To me, it seemed that Micah was having the same thought, as if he was fighting his attraction for her. I wondered how long that would actually last until they gave in to their feelings for one another. It was clear to anyone, how much the two of them cared for one another. If anyone belonged with Micah, it was Kat. I found myself smiling at the ending.

It’s impossible not to love Micah’s son, Ben. I found it cute how he tried to play matchmaker for Micah and Kat. I believe that Ben wanted the two of them end up together, more than the two of them did. Kat was a big influence of Ben, she helped him so much and I believe that she was the one who helped him fit in despite him being handicapped. Kat was one of my favorite characters in the book, way she believed in every student and how she wanted to help them all. She reminded me a lot of my high school principal. It’s impossible to not like her. She helped so many students and led them into right path. She would made John proud.

A beautiful, touching debut novel about love, loss and second chances.
