Meet Daisy Winters. She’s an offbeat sixteen-year-old Floridian with mermaid-red hair; a part time job at a bootleg Walmart, and a perfect older sister who’s nearly engaged to the Crown Prince of Scotland. Daisy has no desire to live in the spotlight, but relentless tabloid attention forces her to join Ellie at the relative seclusion of the castle across the pond.

While the dashing young Miles has been appointed to teach Daisy the ropes of being regal, the prince’s roguish younger brother kicks up scandal wherever he goes, and tries his best to take Daisy along for the ride. The crown–and the intriguing Miles–might be trying to make Daisy into a lady . . . but Daisy may just rewrite the royal rulebook to suit herself.

I love books that deal with royalty. These types of books had always captivated me. When I found out that RACHEL HAWKINS wrote a book that deals with royalty, I was excited, I love her writing, I loved her Hex Hall series. ROYALS is different from the books I read and in a good way. It was amazing. This book, the story was the type of book that I love. I enjoyed that ROYALS had a humor added to it, and it made it much more interesting to read. There were some parts where I couldn’t help but smile and laugh. Once I started the book, I kept on reading it until I realized that hours have passed since I started. I wasn’t that surprised because I know what amazing writer RACHEL HAWKINS is and it reminded me why I love her. It been few years since I read book by her and not I feel as if I need to read more of her books. I know that ROYALS just came out, and yet I want the 2nd book already, I want to see what is coming next.

I wasn’t sure if I liked Miles, not at first. I think he’s one of those characters that’s not likable at first due to how he acted, how he treated Daisy. It wasn’t long until you learn to love him. That’s how it was for me, kind of like Daisy. I don’t think she planned on it, I don’t think she wanted to like him, maybe because of how they met, how he treated her at first. I could tell when she started to get attracted to him, and I saw that for the longest time she tried to deny it. I don’t think it helped when Queen ordered her to pretend to date him. I have a feeling that Miles might liked her before than, and one of reasons that he agreed. All through the book, I kept rooting for them, I wanted for them to realize that they should be together. It’s too bad that they didn’t up until Daisy were headed back to Florida. My heart broke along with Daisy’s. The ending, of course that had me smiling. I didn’t expect it and that was one of the best surprises. Despite fact that I know there are together, I am kind of curious what happens with them next, if they will last together.

I didn’t like how Ellie treated her when she first arrived. I understand that she was under a lot pressure, being engaged to prince. I was glad to see that she eventually realized too, and I was smiling at the sister bonding moment that two of them eventually had. I feel like some of tension that both of them might had, drained away. There is part of me, that hopes that 2nd book is about Alex and Ellie, I kind of like to learn more about Alex, he seems like the type of boyfriend that any girl dreams of. I would love learn more about their relationships as well. In general, I think I am just curious about the two of them. There wasn’t anything that I didn’t enjoy in ROYALS and I am excited to see what happens next. RACHEL HAWKINS did it again, created another beautiful, magical story. You will fall in love.
