When Eadlyn became the first princess of Illéa to hold her own Selection, she didn’t think she would fall in love with any of her thirty-five suitors. She spent the first few weeks of the competition counting down the days until she could send them all home. But as events at the palace force Eadlyn even further into the spotlight, she realizes that she might not be content remaining alone.
Eadlyn still isn’t sure she’ll find the fairytale ending her parents did twenty years ago. But sometimes the heart has a way of surprising you…and soon Eadlyn must make a choice that feels more impossible—and more important—than she ever imagined
It's sad for me to say goodbye to this series. I had fallen in love with The Selection series when I came across it back in 2013 and fallen in love with all the characters, especially Maxon and America. It was a honor to be able to read story about their daughter, Eadlyn and watch her grow and fall in love. She might been not my favorite one in THE HEIR but she grew on me and it feels like she became a completely different person in THE CROWN and I almost did not believe that it was the same person, from everything she done for her parents, her country and the people that she loves. It’s not possible to not like at her, at least for me. Just like her parents I found myself adoring her and I was glad that she was able to find her happily after, her love even if it was unexpected one. After everything that she had gone through, she deserved to be happy. It made me glad that there ended up two more books after THE ONE and that I got to know Eadlyn and everyone in her life.
I seen a bond between Eadlyn and Erik in The Heir but even I was surprised that two of them ended up together. I was sure that she end up with Kile, the two of them were there for one another and seemed to have a special bond with one another. I know that deep down that she loves him too, otherwise she wouldn’t do what she did for him. To make his dream come true. I was both smiling and crying at that scene between the two of them. Despite doing what she knew was right, I know that it was a hard decision for her. Erik will be good for her, I know that he love her for who she is, I seen the way he looked at her and way Eadlyn acts around her. If anyone belongs with her, it’s him. Even Henri seen it and if it wasn’t for him, they wouldn’t even end up together. A fairytale ending.
I can’t express how much I love this characters. Every single one of them became like my friends. It feels like I am saying goodbye to them and I know that I will end up re-reading this series at least few more times. A beautiful, unique story about love, friendship, family, hope. I am honored to have a chance to read it. Not only was story was beautiful but the covers as well. If you love stories about royalty with a twist, The Selection will have you on the edge of your seat. I can’t wait to see what KEIRA CASS has in store for us next.
