Sixteen-year-old Aza never intended to pursue the mystery of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there’s a hundred-thousand-dollar reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Russell Pickett’s son, Davis.

Aza is trying. She is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.

I’m speechless. That was…magical. A part of me wants to start the book over again and read it again. I have been JOHN GREEN fan since I read LOOKING FOR ALASKA years earlier, when I was in college. I have been wondering when he would write a new book, and when I found he wrote a new book, I put it on hold at library right away. I loved all of his books, but now I have a new favorite TURTLES ALL THE WAY DOWN was one of his best ones, in my opinion. JOHN GREEN has a way to have you get you addicted to the story, to the point that you will spend hours reading the book. It made me glad that I didn’t have work because that meant that I could spend more time reading it. I was eager to see what would happen with Aza next, (Loving that name). All of her thoughts, her emotions, while I was reading the book, I felt as I was there and thinking, feeling almost everything that she was.

Out of all his novels, I felt as I could relate to Aza the most. I had dealt with Anxiety myself, as a teen and later in life, not as extreme as Aza’s. To me, there were parts of her like I felt that I could relate too. Mental health is a hard subject to write about and I have read few novels about it. TURTLES ALL THE WAY DOWN was one of the best, and even if I didn’t experience what Aza did, while reading the book, I felt like I was. I dealt with anxiety before but it never been that extreme, and I can’t even begin to imagine feeling like that all the time. I don’t know how she was able to handle it for as long as she had. The descriptions, the emotions that went through Aza’s mind were so descriptive, I had this thought as I was inside her mind. It had me wondering if it would ever get any better, and I hoped that for her sake that it would. Despite her being a difficult person to deal with, I understood it and she was actually my favorite character in the book.

Davis, not a long time passed when you could see a connection between him and Aza. I did wonder if their relationship would work, considering how Aza was. I was surprised that the two of them got to kissing, even if Aza did freak out not long after. That was what I loved about Davis and I believe what made their relationship work, at least for a while, he liked the way they were, he understood her and he didn’t pressure her into anything. Davis just wanted to be with her, to spend time with her. I was sad when it came to end, I was hoping that two of them would find a way to work around that. At same time I wasn’t surprised either. The scenes between Davis and Aza were my favorites, I think he was one of people that actually made her happy and same goes for Davis.

Daisy, she’s one of those people that you can’t help but love. I know that she would get frustrated with Aza at times. In the end, she was always there for Aza. She understood her and helped her calm down when she would get anxious. I feel like not many people would be able to deal with way that Daisy had. What the two of them had, that’s a real friendship, the one person that you know you remain friends with for years to come. I loved everything about this book, the plot, the characters, and of course the title, TURTLES ALL THE WAY DOWN how can you not love that awesome title? It was different from what JOHN GREEN usually writes, but in a good way. It took my breath away. I fell in love. I am already looking forward to his next book.

If you haven’t read any of his books, be sure to pick up TURTLES ALL THE WAY DOWN , It’s worth every page. After reading it, had actually inspired me to work on my own book I am writing. A book that you will find yourself thinking about and will stay with you.

A heart aching masterpiece.

I can’t remember last time that a series played this way with my emotions, not way that Mara Dyer had. I finished it not long ago and I am still thinking about it, especially that ending. When I first started reading the series, I had a feeling that I was going to love it. I, however did not realize how in love I would fall in love with this series, especially with Noah and Mara. From beginning, I wondered how their story would end up, if the two of them would be able to find their happily after. It felt like anytime they got anywhere to being happy, something seemed get in their way. It was as if universe didn’t want them to be happy together. Like, Mara I was hoping that Noah was somewhere out there, alive. Not once did she give up, she kept on going until she found him, despite the obstacles that got on her way. Nothing seemed to stop her, even if she was only one who seemed to believe that he was alive. I was hesitant at times, wondering if Noah was actually alive, and was happy to find out that he was.

There were so much more going on in this book, then the rest of series or at least that is how it felt like to me. I loved Jamie, besides Mara, Daniel and Noah he was my favorite character. I loved that he always stood by her side through it all, even when Stella left at the end, because of her ability. He stayed. That’s a real friendship right there. I wonder what happened to him after. THE RETRIBUTION OF MARA DYER had me go though a lot emotions while I read it. I even cried multiple times. At times, it was hard book to read but I couldn’t seem to put it down. Last night I ended up reading it most of the night, I could not set it down even if I wanted. I wanted to see how it would end for Noah and Mara. I know there were few people who were hesitant about Noah’s love for Mara, but I knew that he loved her. The two of them belonged with each other. It made the ending of the book so beautiful.

Mara Dyer will be one of those series that will always stay with me. A series that I most likely re-read multiple times in future. I am so glad that I finally got around to reading it. One of the best books I read so far this year. Books that are worth every page.

Cam and the legions of angels and Outcasts are desperate to catch Luce, but none are as frantic as Daniel. He chases Luce through their shared pasts, terrified of what might happen if she rewrites history. Because their romance for the ages could go up in flames . forever.

Breathtaking.

I almost have no words, to describe how I am feeling about this book, this series. I didn’t think that it was possible to fall in love with these books even more. I was wrong, I have fallen in love more than I was. I feel like every book and I fall a bit more in love with this magical story. PASSION wasn’t any different. I loved it from beginning to the end and afterwards found myself thinking about the story for hours after. Not only that, but I wished that I had the next book in series, to find out what would happen next. It’s one of those series that I wished I read when I first started hearing about it. Now I know why so many were talking about. It’s magical, thrilling love story. I don’t think that I have read a love story quite like this one. Not that I know off. I wondered if maybe Luce could find a way to stop their curse, to keep herself from dying every time. At same time, I wonder if there danger for her traveling that way and possibility of changing past and if that would mess things up for her and Daniel.

Of course I loved fact that one of her travels took place in Russia, considering that I am from there. It was easier for me to picture the location. From moment that I read FALLEN I loved the realthionship between Daniel and Luce, despite how tragically it seemed to end for both of them each other. It was love. I did not realize how much both of them had gone through, not until Luce’s travel. How much of Luce’s death , Daniel had seen, how many times he had to mourn her death. I don’t know how he managed to handle it all this time. I feel like I wouldn’t been able to if I were in his situation, I wouldn’t be able to handle that much pain. What Luce and Daniel have is meaning of true love. I am hoping that the two of them would be able to find how to get past, because honestly I am not sure how much of it Daniel can handle until he had enough. There is so much one person can handle, even an angel. I am rooting for both of them. I hope that they can find their happiness soon.

LAUREN KATE had taken my breath away, by another astonishing addition to the Fallen Series and I cannot wait how it all ends, what other challenges and adventures everyone will face. Especially Luce and Daniel. I will highly recommend this series to any fantasy and romance lovers. You won’t put it down. A must read.

What if the person you were meant to be with could never be yours?

17-year-old Lucinda falls in love with a gorgeous, intelligent boy, Daniel, at her new school, the grim, foreboding Sword & Cross . . . only to find out that Daniel is a fallen angel, and that they have spent lifetimes finding and losing one another as good & evil forces plot to keep them apart.

Get ready to fall . . .

What a beautiful story.

You know by now that I love any books, that has to do with Angels. Besides Vampires, those are my favorite type of Paranormal stories. I have read few books through years about Angels. I heard, I read about Fallen angels, and who hasn’t? I haven’t read anything like what I read in FALLEN , an unique spin on angels, on a love story. I didn’t like how Daniel treated Luce in beginning, he gave me a bad vibe. Like Luce, I was confused why one minute he was sweet to her, and the next giving her the cold shoulder. I wondered if he had something against Luce, or if he was jealous of Cam since he seemed to be giving her so much attention. Once I found out reason behind Daniel’s odd behavior, and it all made sense. I can’t say that I don’t blame him. I am not sure how he kept going through it for as long as he had. If that’s not real love, then I don’t know what is.

Daniel and Luce had connection, even before I found out about their history. There was something between them. I saw how Daniel couldn’t seem to stay away from her, the two of them always ended up with each other. I did wonder why he kept on putting off kissing her, I knew that he wanted to, what was stopping him. I can’t imagine how relieved he might been when he finally gave in, and Luce was still there. Of course now Luce in danger. I think it’s romantic that the two of them always end up finding their way to one another, falling for each other every single time. I am Team Daniel all the way, even though I like Cam, or at least I liked at beginning. I know he was bit pushy, but at same time I thought it was sweet all attention her gave to Luce. I know that Cam cares about Luce, he might not love her like Daniel does but I know he cares, otherwise why would he agree on truce with him, in order to protect her? I know that there something there, even if neither of them would admit. Cam and Luce care for one another, or it could be just me.

My favorite from Luce friends was Penn, she helped her through so much. Penn always seemed to be there when Luce needed someone. I’m sad that things ended way they did for her. Mrs. Sophia, wow. Even I did not see that coming, I would never guessed that she wouldn’t be on their side, not the way she always acted around Luce, and Penn. I believe that there was a part of me that refused to accept that she is evil, I think I still am. Nobody saw it coming, not even Daniel who trusted her and why he sent her off with her. I can’t imagine how guilty he must felt. FALLEN was filled with so much suspense, each page had you craving for more. As you reach the end you will want to dive into next book right away. I was blown away by this book. I have read LAUREN KATE Teardrop Series and now I am in love with her writing even more. I am eager to dive into rest of the series.

The truth about Mara Dyer's dangerous and mysterious abilities continues to unravel in the New York Times bestselling sequel to the thrilling The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. Mara Dyer once believed she could run from her past. She can't. She used to think her problems were all in her head. They aren't.

She couldn't imagine that after everything she's been through, the boy she loves would still be keeping secrets. She's wrong. In this gripping sequel to The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, the truth evolves and choices prove deadly. What will become of Mara Dyer next?

How did I not read this series before now? I thought THE UNBECOMING OF MARA DYER was amazing. Now, that I read THE EVOLUTION OF MARA DYER I think that I’m even more in love with the series, the characters than I was in the first book. This series has a way to suck you into the story, to the point that it’s almost impossible to pull away. Even if you put the book away, you will find yourself thinking about the story, about Mara and wondering what is going to happen to her next. Top of it, that cliff Inger and what it did to my emotions. Unfortunately, I did not have the next book in series, so I have to wait, and that is worst feeling, I need to see what happens, how it all ends. There was not a single page that did not capture my attention, if anything with all the cliffhangers, it kept on wanting to read more.

I love Noah and I love how protective he is over Mara, he’s the type of boyfriend that every girl dreamed of. Plus, fact that Mara’s parents seem to love him and actually let him stay over, that’s another plus. However, I had that feeling that there is something that he is hiding from Mara, but just Mara I couldn’t quite figure out what it was. I know that he loved her, I could tell the way he was around her, always there for her when she needed him. I think he was one of people who actually believed her about Jude, that he was still alive. That’s another thing that I wondered, how did he make out of there? After what happened when Jude kidnapped Mara, I started to wonder if it was possible that Jude was the one who ended up killing everyone and not Mara? It just a thought I had after what happened the night that he kidnapped her.

This is type of series that I wished I picked up, when I first found out about it. It’s also type of series that I know that I will end up re-reading multiple times in future. That ending thought. There is part of me that refuses, just like Mara that it’s happening. At same time, it’s not surprise since bad luck seems to follow Mara everywhere lately. I know that this will change things. I anxious to see what’s going to happen next, how all of this will end for Mara.

A magical, thrilling, heartbreaking story that will stay with you.

Mara Dyer doesn’t think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.
It can.

She believes there must be more to the accident she can’t remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed.
There is.

She doesn’t believe that after everything she’s been through, she can fall in love.
She’s wrong.

I have been hearing about this book, on and off since it came out. I remember seeing a hype that everyone seemed to have about this series, how excited a lot of people seemed be to read this book. I got curious and put on my to read list. It wasn’t until this year when I finally picked up THE UNBECOMING OF MARA DYER and it wasn’t long where I wished that I picked up sooner. I could see why so many loved this book. I fell in love with this book only few pages in, I was hooked into Mara’s, into Noah’s story. I had a feeling that something was going to wrong, from beginning when Mara, Rachel and Claire played with Ouja board. However I never imagined that there were a chance that there is possibility that Mara could be responsible for what happened. Like Mara, I had a feeling that something was off about her, something wasn’t right. It had me curious about her, I wanted to find out what she was capable of, was possible.

THE UNBECOMING OF MARA DYER was filled with a lot of anticipation, mystery. I don’t think there was a single page that didn’t have you wondering what happens next. For me, it was a hard book to put down, I wanted to keep on reading, I wanted to see what happens next. I wanted to find out what Noah and Mara would discover. Most of nights, 2 more chapters would turn into me reading for 4 hours. Just when I was sure that it would be last chapter, a cliffhanger would have me turning to the next chapter and next. I know I would read the book faster, if I didn’t have to work. THE UNBECOMING OF MARA DYER is one of those stories that I will never forget. I was still thinking about when I came to the end, especially after that ending, how can you not be curious about what would happen next. I know that I did.

I loved the friendship that Mara and Daniel had. The two of them seemed more like best friends than siblings. It looked like she was close to all her family, most of time. However her and Daniel and Mara seemed to have a special bond, they were always there for one another when needed. I don’t think it’s often when siblings have a friendship the way that Daniel and Mara have. Of course, I loved Mara. I did feel bad for her for everything that she went through. The bond, the attraction that Noah and Mara had, was special and I feel that there was a reason that the two of them were brought together. Yet, after that unexpected twist at the end of the book, I can’t help but wonder what is going to happen next. What would happen to Mara? I aleready know that Mara Dyer is a series that I am going to love. I am eager to see what’s to come next.

Love fantasy? Love Suspense with some romance in mix? Pick up THE UNBECOMING OF MARA DYER you won’t put it down once you do. A magical, thrilling story.

In Seaside, North Carolina, there are two kinds of people: Marines, and kids of Marines. Then there’s Kat Chandler. Recently hired as the principal of Seaside Elementary, Kat makes it her mission to turn the school into a place of peace and calm. That’s not going to be easy with hard-liner parents like Micah Peterson storming in, telling her how to do her job—and then kissing her with those gorgeous lips of his and turning her brain into mush.

As a Marine Sergeant and a single dad, Micah Peterson has just two priorities: doing his job better than anyone else, and getting the absolute best for his son, Ben. But when he meets Ben’s beautiful new principal, a different yearning shifts into focus. He wants her, sure, but he’s also moved by the connection Kat forges with her students. So after learning that she refuses to date Marines, Micah sets two more objectives: convincing Kat to give him a chance . . . and then holding on to her forever.

I’m not sure why, but I had always enjoyed stories that dealt with military. It could be that half of my family was in Military, and I always found those stories Captivating. WELCOME TO FOREVER was part of buddy read that I was doing with a close friend of mine, Sam. If it’s one person, it’s her that I have to thank for coming across this novel. After few pages, I was captivated into Micah and Kat’s story and I had force myself to put it down. Only reason it took me this long to finish, was due to my hectic work and life schedule otherwise I would finished it sooner. WELCOME TO FOREVER was the first book that I read by ANNIE RAINS and it won’t be the last time. I am eager to see what other stories she came up in the series. I feel like I should be picking up the next book in series. There are almost no words to describe how much I loved this book.

I could see from their first meeting, the connection, the attraction that Kat and Micah had. Just the way that the two of them interacted with one another. At start, I didn’t think that she would let him in, that it would work. Even though couple years passed since John’s passing, it was clear that Kat wasn’t over him, especially since she still had his engagement ring. She was still grieving. I could see that her attraction for Micah grew, even if she tried to deny it. Especially once she found out that he was Marine. I could tell how hard she was fighting with her feelings for him. To me, it seemed that Micah was having the same thought, as if he was fighting his attraction for her. I wondered how long that would actually last until they gave in to their feelings for one another. It was clear to anyone, how much the two of them cared for one another. If anyone belonged with Micah, it was Kat. I found myself smiling at the ending.

It’s impossible not to love Micah’s son, Ben. I found it cute how he tried to play matchmaker for Micah and Kat. I believe that Ben wanted the two of them end up together, more than the two of them did. Kat was a big influence of Ben, she helped him so much and I believe that she was the one who helped him fit in despite him being handicapped. Kat was one of my favorite characters in the book, way she believed in every student and how she wanted to help them all. She reminded me a lot of my high school principal. It’s impossible to not like her. She helped so many students and led them into right path. She would made John proud.

A beautiful, touching debut novel about love, loss and second chances.

High school senior Zephyr Doyle is swept off her feet—and into an intense and volatile relationship—by the new boy in school.

His obsession.

Her fall.

Zephyr is focused. Focused on leading her team to the field hockey state championship and leaving her small town for her dream school, Boston College.

But love has a way of changing things.

Enter the new boy in school: the hockey team’s starting goaltender, Alec. He’s cute, charming, and most important, Alec doesn’t judge Zephyr. He understands her fears and insecurities—he even shares them. Soon, their relationship becomes something bigger than Zephyr, something she can’t control, something she doesn’t want to control.

Zephyr swears it must be love. Because love is powerful, and overwhelming, and … terrifying?

But love shouldn’t make you abandon your dreams, or push your friends away. And love shouldn’t make you feel guilty—or worse, ashamed.

So when Zephyr finally begins to see Alec for who he really is, she knows it’s time to take back control of her life.

If she waits any longer, it may be too late

Most emotional, heart aching novel that I read this year. I have read books that included this topic before, none of those novels were as deep like THE GIRL WHO FELL . I had this feelings like I was there along with Zephyr and going through what she was dealing with. I felt her insecurities, her shame, guilt and then fear. THE GIRL WHO FELL was a hard book to read and at same time, it was impossible to put down. I would start reading it and when I did put it down, to realize that hours had passed by. Abuse is very hard but an important subject to read about. When I did put the novel down, I found myself thinking about it and wondering how it would end for her, and I remembered hoping for the best for Zephyr after everything that Alec put her through, hoping that she would be able to get out of it, to get away from him.

At first, Alec seemed like every girl’s dream. He treated Zephyr with love, like a princess. You would never guess who he really was. The first half of book, he seemed to a perfect gentleman. As book progressed, I started to see the signs, red flags. Alec, always seemed to want to be with her, and it was not long when he was forcing her to cancel her plans, to be with him instead. He told her he loved her, and I knew there was more to that then that. He was obsessed and always seemed watch her every move. It wasn’t long before he started to make Zephyr feel ashamed, guilty because she did something that Alec did not approve of, like hanging out or talking to Gregg. How he made her feel that it was her fault, that she could hurt her. I hoped that Zephyr would see him for who he was, before it was too late, before he went too far. I wished that she listened to Lizzie sooner. I don’t think I ever disliked character as much as I did with Alec.

I loved Lizzie and Gregg. I don’t think that Zephyr would been able to get out of it, to see Alec for who it was if it weren’t for Lizzie. What the three of them had was a real friendship, and I know that it hurt Zephyr for not able to talk to Gregg, due to Alec. Even if she did not see it, I think it was Gregg and Zephyr who belonged together. I was hoping that maybe the two of them would end up together in the end, or at least get their friendship to way it was. Before Alec. A lot of scenes between Alex and Zephyr got hard for me to read, especially when he got controlling. I have heard about this book for a while, and now I see why people were talking about. Despite the deep subject, it’s a story that will stay with you long after you turn the last page.
