HARRY DRESDEN — WIZARD

Lost Items Found. Paranormal Investigations. Consulting. Advice. Reasonable Rates. No Love Potions, Endless Purses, or Other Entertainment.

Harry Dresden’s faced some pretty terrifying foes during his career. Giant scorpions. Oversexed vampires. Psychotic werewolves. All par for the course for Chicago’s only professional wizard.

But in all of Harry’s years of supernatural sleuthing, he’s never faced anything like this: the spirit world’s gone postal. All over Chicago, ghosts are causing trouble—and not just of the door-slamming, ‘boo’- shouting variety. These ghosts are tormented, violent, and deadly.

Someone—or something—is stirring them up to wreak unearthly havoc. But why? And why do so many of the victims have ties to Harry? If Harry doesn’t figure it out soon, he could wind up a ghost himself....

This book was out of this world, it had me going through so many emotions. Once I read Grave Peril I remembered that it was the book what I started to get into the series. First it dealt with ghosts and I like any book that has to deal with those. However Grave Peril is unlike any ghost stories that I read through the years. These ghosts were acting the way that they were, not because they wanted revenge how I originally thought but because they were in pain. If I had a wire running through inside of my body, I would probably act the same way that they were. That would be one pain that even I won’t be able to handle. When I read about it, the way that Butcher had described it, I could actually feel the pain that they went through. How could I not? I was actually curious myself why it was happening, the reason behind it. I knew that there must been a reason behind all of it. Grave Peril was even more action packed than Fool Moon I seriously did not want to put the book down till I reached the end. It’s a book that will have you on the adventure along with Dresden and everything else involved.

Grave Peril was one of most emotional novel, at least so far. At least towards the end it was. My heart ache for him. How could it not? How could you not but be in pain when the women that you love is turned into vampire? I loved fact that he still loved her despite her being a vampire now. I felt angry towards those vampires, but of course I knew that it was their plan all long when they captured Susan, they knew how much she meant to him. I believe it was their way to get to him. It was Bianca’s revenge who had a grudge against Dresden for a while. And she succeeded, thought she didn’t completely turn her, at least not yet, it would be just matter of time when she would become one. I could tell that he blamed himself to what happened to his girlfriend. I am curious if he will think of something, or try to figure out something that would help her.

Grave Peril is filled with a lot of action, it’s a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Even afterwards you will find yourself wanted to pick up Summer Knight right away because the curiosity will get the best of you. I know it is for me. I am eager to see what happens with council, the war and of course Susan. More series progresses, the more intense it gets and of course the harder it gets to put down. How can it not? If you love fantasy, mixed with mystery, some romance and adventure, this is a book for you.
