SUMMARY

True love—and world war—is at stake in the conclusion to The Pledge trilogy, a dark and romantic blend of dystopia and fantasy. Charlie, otherwise known as Queen Charlaina of Ludania, has become comfortable as a leader and a ruler. She’s done admirable work to restore Ludania’s broken communications systems with other Queendoms, and she’s mastered the art of ignoring Sabara, the evil former queen whose Essence is alive within Charlie. Or so she thinks.

When the negotiation of a peace agreement with the Queendom of Astonia goes awry, Charlie receives a brutal message that threatens Ludania, and it seems her only option is to sacrifice herself in exchange for Ludanian freedom.

But things aren’t always as they seem. Charlie is walking into a trap—one set by Sabara, who is determined to reclaim the Queendoms at any cost.

This is it, we had finally reached the end. I fell in love with series from minute I picked up first novel, in 2011. At end of The Pledge, The Essence I was curious to see how it was going to come to end. Great ending to an amazing series. It actually made me a bit said that it was over, yet happy that everything somehow going back to way that it should been, for Charlie and most of the others. Even if I loved all of the books, The Offering was my favorite, I didn’t want to pull myself away from the book because I wanted to see how everything end, especially for Charlie. I was curious to see if she be able to save her country, and be free of Sabara. Plus I was curious to see what would happen with her and Max, and if Brooklyn ever forgive her. The Offering was filled with unexpected twist, suspense and action. There wasn’t a single moment that didn’t have my interest.

The Cover was completely stunning, I think that it fit the storyline well. It represented Charlie well too, at least I am assuming that It’s her. It’s a type of cover, design that would attract any reader’s attention, even if they haven’t read the series yet. It’s colorful and even the cover tells you that something big is about to happen. How can you not be curious and pick it up? I know that I was, and moment I did, knew it would be another great book and it was. A story that I would never forget.

Charlie : She had been my favorite character since Book One. I saw how much she changed through the book, especially once she became a Queen. The Offering showed how far she would go, to protect her country. Charlie made a much better Queen then Sabara ever was. I think that her become the Queen of Ludania was a positive influence on the country. Though it was a bit rough start at first, in the end she had succeeded. Top of that she was finally free of Sabara, something that she was glad about. It even repaired her and Angelina’s broken relationship a bit, or at least that how it seemed like. It took a lot of courage to do what Charlie went through. Despite what happened, how Sabrara kept wanting take control, she kept on going. She’s strong. A Fighter.

I am going miss all the characters. A one series that I don’t regret picking up. It had my attention from the first book till the last. I am eager to see what Derting will come up with next. After reading The Pledge she has become one of my favorites. So far any books of hers I read, keeps me on edge of seat. I am always excited for her books to come out.
