Hemlock was an amazing debut, it had left me speechless. I did have high expectations for the book, after reading summary and few reviews. In the end, I have ended up loving it more than I thought I would. I had always been a fan of werewolves stories, they one of my favorites, this has to be my favorite out of ones that I read so far. It was unlike other werewolf books I read, it was different and unique and it was what I loved about it. Each page, each paragraph was intense, filled with some sort action, there wasn’t single page that didn’t have you on edge of your seat, kept you on wondering. I’m already in love with this series. I’m looking forward to Peacock’s next book.

Mackenzie and Amy were best friends. Until Amy was brutally murdered.
Since then, Mac's life has been turned upside down. She is being haunted by Amy in her dreams, and an extremist group called the Trackers has come to Mac's hometown of Hemlock to hunt down Amy's killer:
A white werewolf.
Lupine syndrome--also known as the werewolf virus--is on the rise across the country. Many of the infected try to hide their symptoms, but bloodlust is not easy to control.
Wanting desperately to put an end to her nightmares, Mac decides to investigate Amy's murder herself. She discovers secrets lurking in the shadows of Hemlock, secrets about Amy's boyfriend, Jason, her good pal Kyle, and especially her late best friend. Mac is thrown into a maelstrom of violence and betrayal that puts her life at risk.

It seems like a lot of people were drawn in by cover, for this book. Honestly that what caught my attention was the cover. When I came across it while surfing Goodreads, I checked out right away. Even before I got around to reading the summary, I had feeling that the book would be intense and even sad in a way. I could tell by the girl on the cover, how she was sitting by herself, sad. The fact that she seemed to be sitting in the forest, I had feeling that something had happened to someone she was close to. Of course my first question was, who? So that’s when I read the summary. The cover is stunning, totally capture your attention.

What I loved about this book, was the mystery. It was all way through the book and it always kept you wondering. Just when you thought that you figured out who killed Amy, another suspect seems to come into picture, like Ben towards the end. He was the last person I thought would be the killer. Especially how he wasn’t even a suspect and not mentioned all that much, till the last few chapters. He wouldn’t even cross my mind. I loved how she put that twist. Also the twist with Kyle. I kind of suspected something was up with him, and Heather but him being a werewolf? Being infected by her, I did not see that coming. This is type of twists that I love in books, it keeps you guessing. It keeps you on reading, wondering what’s going happen next, what other twist will come next.

Kyle & Jason : For some reason, I had feeling that Mac would end up with Jason, maybe because of way they acted in beginning and how Mac thought he kiss her. The way she acted when she thought that he would kiss her. Despite her denying it, or trying to deny, I know she has some sort feelings for him. I had feeling that Jason liked her, but was surprised to find out he liked her while he was still with Amy. Now Kyle, I loved him from the start, the way he always tried to protect her. Though he also pushed her away half of time when he came to feelings, I knew he loved her, even before he said. I’m kind of hoping Mac will find him, end up with Kyle. To me, Jason seems dangerous. At same time curious if anything happen between Jason and Mac while they looking for Kyle.

I thought it was interesting how you could get infected, from scratch. Other books I read, you usually had get bitten by one. Of course in this book everyone was aware of werewolves. I think if you fan of werewolves, this is the novel that is totally worth checking out. It filled with action, mystery, romance and it will keep you reading till you reach the end.
