There is something about Diane Chamberlain books, something magical. Ever since I came across her books few years earlier, there hasn’t been a single book that I didn’t love. The Silent Sister wasn’t any different and I was very excited when I won ARC copy from Goodreads First Reads Giveaway. This book was a bit different that how usually Chamberlain wrote books in the past but I was pulled in from first page till the last. Way that Chamberlain started the novel; it would make anyone curious, especially if you are in mystery. I was. I wondered what happened, why she did what she thought she did, and did she really kill someone? How can that not have you curious? I believe that The Silent Sister was the most mystery, suspense filled novel. It’s a novel that will keep you up late at night, because you want to find out what will happen next. 




Having book from two different perspectives worked well for this type of storyline. That way you got to know both Riley & Jade. I thought it was unique approach that she did Riley’s point of view from Present and Jade, right after she faked the suicide. From prologue I did wonder what she was thinking, and what happened with her Violin teacher is the truth, felt like there was more story there. Most of the book I kept on wondering what happened. Once the truth came out I could see why she did it, to protect Riley. When I found out what happened, I felt anger towards him. All this years he had been hurting her, making her feel scared instead of doing his job. I wished that Lisa had courage to tell someone, and maybe everything that happened could be avoided. It kept you on the edge, up till the end. 



There were quite few twists within the book, unexpected ones. One that took me by surprise the most was fact that Riley was Lisa/ Jade’s daughter instead of sister, despite the huge age gap between the two of them, I had never put the two together. The discovery took me a back, I was in shock just like Riley been. I couldn’t blame her considering that she thought she was her sister for so many years. There were so many secrets that were kept from her, it’s no wonder that she felt betrayed, I would too if I was in her situation. I wonder if she would forgive her, given her another chance if Celia didn’t come by and tell her the truth, what happened. There were so many emotions going through this book. So much mystery. I felt every emotion that the character felt. It’s a book that worth checking out. Another great Chamberlain creation, can’t wait see what she comes up with next.

There is something about witches, magic novels that I love. Those types of books have been my favorite’s fantasy novels since my teen years. It’s fascinates me, engages me. Born Wicked wasn’t any different and it wasn’t what I expected it to be, the novel turned out even better that I expected to be. I have heard about this series for a while now and it seemed like a novel that a lot of people enjoyed. Finally I had a chance to check it out at my library and moment I started it, glad that I did. Once I read it , I was amazed and wished that I read the book earlier. I know that this is fantasy but the way story was written, it felt real to me. I imagined everything that was happening; I felt the emotions that Cate was feeling through everything. Born Wicked a story, characters that you will fall in love with, you will find yourself thinking about afterwards. How can you not? You can’t help but wonder what happens next. After an ending like that, I wish that I had Starcursed so I could start reading it right away. 


You can’t help but feel bad for Cate Cahill; she has so many responsibilities on her shoulders. Cate is the one who needs to protect her sisters, to protect their secret from everyone. Top of everything she finds out a secret that their mother hid from them, the secret that she has to make sure stays hidden. That’s a lot of for one person. I wouldn’t be able to do everything that she did and hold it all together. Reading from her point of view, gave me insight of her thoughts, feelings and by the end of the novel, it felt that I actually knew her, it was real. Cate was a strong character, and my favorite. Everything that she done for her sisters, to protect them. To make sure that they weren’t going to get caught arrested. It felt like Maura didn’t realize how much sacrifice she did for them. What happened at the end, she did it for them. 


Of course I adored Finn from start. I saw a connection between the two of them from first meeting, even if Cate didn’t at first. I know that Paul cared for Cate a lot but it’s not how Cate felt for him, there was no special connection between two of them. At least that’s the feeling I got. The first kiss between Cate and Finn was filled with passion, love. When the two of them kissed, I was smiling. I had hoped that two of them would kiss. That Finn would be the one that Cate would choose. I got feeling that Paul wouldn’t be as accepting as Finn was when he found out that she’s a witch. Finn didn’t treat her any differently, he loved her for way she was. That’s why ending made me sad. I hoped that the things would work between them and he didn’t even know reason she joined sisterhood. I’m eager to see what happens between two of them next. 


I had feeling that there was something off about Elena, moment she arrived. Have you ever read about a character and you had feeling something wasn’t right? That’s a feeling that I had about her from start. Not just her but Sisterhood in general, once I found out that all of them were witches. They sent Elena, to spy on the sisters. That gave me a red flag right away. I just wished that Maura saw it too. There is something off about her too, and not in a good way. How Sisterhood blackmailed Cate to join them, made me angry, it had me disliking Elena even more. Because she joined them, she has to leave her sisters, and unable to marry the boy she loves. Now that she joined the sisterhood, it has me wondering what’s going to happen next. 


Born Wicked reminded me a lot of what Salem Witch Trial was like. A book filled with suspense, history, love, sacrifice. A must read series.

When I heard that David Estes is coming out with new series, a series about witches. I was excited. I love novels that has anything to do with witches, it’s a subject that fascinated me from my teen years. Before reading Brew I had read few series about witches, wizards. Brew was unlike any that I read, a witch apocalypse, doesn’t knowing that make you want to read it? That’s what I loved about this book, it’s was different, it was original and unlike any other book I read about witches. To me, Brew portrayed the way most of the witches usually are. The real witches. I loved every page of this book and I know if it wasn’t for work, would finish much faster. Brew is type of a novel that you can’t help but love, it sucks you right into story. After you finish it, you find yourself thinking about it and wanting to pick up Boil right after. How can you not? How can you not wonder what happens after such ending? 


Rhett : It’s hard not to like him. Even before everything fell apart, there was something about him that you couldn’t help but love. In a way I could relate to him, a bit. He was a reader like me, a book blogger like I am. Plus the poems that he wrote through the book, I write a bit similar to type poems he did, filled with a lot of emotions, a way to get my emotions out too. It’s hard not to like someone that you can relate to. I loved his dedication to, what he had gone through, the dangers that he face, to face necromancers who took everything from him. For someone who didn’t liked fighting in beginning, he went through a lot. That takes a lot of strength, courage. Though if he didn’t meet Laney I don’t know if he got far, considering she saved his life. Part of me believes that she was one thing that kept him going. He changed completely through the book and have feeling that he’s about change more. 


Laney and Rhett made an unlike team. They were both different. Honestly I didn’t think she go as far as she did. That’s a real friendship right there, but there were times were I wondered if she might feel about him more that friend. Maybe she denied it because of Beth, because she knows how he feels about Beth, because now wouldn’t be best time to be in relationship. I’m curious to see if their friendship might progress a bit more in Boil, despite what happens with Beth. They do make a great team, they went through so much together, fought witches, sirens, were almost killed multiple times, constantly on run. I wouldn’t be able to do it if I was in their situation. That would take a lot. A dedicated team. A strong friendship. 


I loved that most of book was filled with action. Each chapter, each page there was always something going on. If they weren’t running from Witches, they come across Sirens or The End, or explosions. It seemed like they couldn’t catch a break. They made through all of that and I do hope they make it all the way. Each chapter had me eager to see what happens next, what adventures, dangers the two friends will face next. I have feeling that there about to face more of it in Boil, considering how Brew ended. 


David Estes, who also happens, be good friend of mine wrote a thrilling, heartbreaking, suspenseful new series. A must read series. I’m excited to see what adventures he will lead us to next.

Asunder was a breathtaking sequel to Incarnate. There was a lot suspense and plot twists all through the book, the ones that I wasn’t expecting. Meadows had me on edge of my seat till the end. Once I reached the ending of Asunder I was wondering, what happens next? It had me wishing that I had the next book. Meadows ended Asunder with a twist, a twist that has the readers wondering what’s going to happen next. I know that I am. Eager to find out what happens next, how it all going to end. Jodi Meadows has an amazing talent, a writer that will suck you in right from starter. A writer I am going to read for years to come. 



Story wasn’t only one that captured my attention, the cover is absolutely stunning. Just look at it, how can you not look at the cover and not be curious? Not be taken aback by how beautiful it is? I was. Cover was one of first things that captured my attention in first book and I am glad it did. Whoever did the cover did an amazing job and to come up with such image, that takes so much imagination. If you haven’t read the series, if you were ever to come across the cover, it would totally catch your attention and get to pick up book, to see if there is a story behind the image. Cover is not only captivating but titles as well. Both of them fir the story so well. Once I read Asunder, I realized how well both the cover and title fit the cover. A theme. 



Asunder was filled with so much more suspense, I loved it even more that first book, a book that I love too. There was so much more going on in this one and there was more mystery in behind. Everyone was on edge since the Templedark and then newsouls started to be born. That angered a lot of people to the point that they wanted to kill them. I felt bad for Ana, no matter what she did or how she warned people during templedark, they didn’t seem to want to accept her, to give her a chance. I was angry towards them, it’s not like that it was her fault that it happened. Despite what happened, Ana was strong and fact how hard she worked to try and protect newsouls and how she wouldn’t give up. I was glad that she had some friends to support her, especially Sam. I was hesitant toward Stef though. I liked her in first book but in Asunder she let jealousy over Sam get best of her, I hate how she treated her, Sam. 


Sam and Ana, how can you not love them? They were my favorite from the first book. I had a feeling that Sam loved her even before he said it, how he was around her and how he always tried to protect her. They are my favorite couple. They belong together. That’s why I wasn’t happy when they got in fight but in the end they made it through. I was smiling when Ana finally told him that she loved him, I was wondering how long it take for her to accept that she loved him. I wasn’t happy with council what they did to her towards end, how they made her leave one place that was like home. I hoped Sam would go with her and was glad when he said that he would. Now I am eager to see what their adventures awaits next. 


A series that will take your breath away. It will have you craving for more. Must Read.

Death can bring you close to people you least expected, or pull you away from ones that you love. This story is about Loss, Grief, Trust and love. Finding Julian is filled with so much suspense, mystery and that’s a type of stories that I love. How can you not? From moment after her father’s funeral there was some sort suspense. The farther the book progress, the more mysterious it got. All through the book I kept wondering, who could it be? Who could kill Julian’s father and then the lawyer and most of all why? I could not pull myself from the book, it felt like I was trying to solve the mystery along with Julian. I needed to know what happened, I was curious to see if she would be able to solve it. Despite what happened, her father didn’t deserve to be killed. Of course the least suspected person ended up being killer, though I did suspect something off about Gavin, the way he was acting, it was suspicious, like he was up to something. 


Seven, first of all I love his name. From all the books that I have read before, I haven’t seen a name after a number, it’s unique. I loved him right from the start, thought sometimes I was frustrated by his actions like Julian was I am sure. At same time I understood why he acted way that he did, he had a lot on his plate. At first, I was suspicious about his intentions, especially once I found out that he was looking out for Julian because he promised her father. I had myself wondering if he even cared for her or if all of that was a chore. The more time they spent together; I could tell that he did start to care for her but seemed have hard time admitting it. I did wonder if there was a reason that he wouldn’t admit it. Was there something that he was afraid of? It seemed like most of characters knew about their feelings towards each other, expect for them. I questioned if they would finally admit it. I was glad when they did. 


I disliked her stepfamily from start; they treated her with nothing but disrespect. I knew that they were hurt but that doesn’t mean that they had right to treat her like trash. At least one of them developed a relationship with her, Mackenzie. I tried to dislike her because of how she treated her in beginning but I couldn’t. I was smiling when Mackenzie stood to her mother, for Julian and there were few sisters moments they had too. I have a feeling that they are going have a great relationship. It made me happy that she could at least form a relationship with her sister, just like their father wanted. 


Finding Julian is a 2nd book that I read by Shane Morgan and won’t be the last. The book had everything from suspense, mystery to romance. It had me on edge of my seat and so many emotions went through me while reading it. It did start out bit slow at beginning for me, but picked up after only few pages. Morgan is one amazing writer, the one I will read for years to come. A story worth every page.
