Emika Chen barely made it out of the Warcross Championships alive. Now that she knows the truth behind Hideo's new NeuroLink algorithm, she can no longer trust the one person she's always looked up to, who she once thought was on her side.

Determined to put a stop to Hideo's grim plans, Emika and the Phoenix Riders band together, only to find a new threat lurking on the neon-lit streets of Tokyo. Someone's put a bounty on Emika's head, and her sole chance for survival lies with Zero and the Blackcoats, his ruthless crew. But Emika soon learns that Zero isn't all that he seems--and his protection comes at a price.

Caught in a web of betrayal, with the future of free will at risk, just how far will Emika go to take down the man she loves?

Astounding. Magical.

Just when you don’t think that a series can get any better, it does. I loved WARCROSS and once I started reading WILDCARD I fell in love with series, more than I already was when I read the first book. You will get hooked , and MARIE LU will have you on edge of your seat until the end. I could not force myself to put this book down, and once I finished it, I wanted to go back and re-read it again. It had me wondering why I haven’t read it sooner. I enjoyed the first book a lot, however I felt as if WILDCARD had a lot more going on, a lot more action then the first book did. Every page, every chapter will have you craving for more, wondering what will happen next. Ever since the first book, I couldn’t help but wonder how it would end for Emika, would she ever go back to her old life? I loved Emika from the start, and I want to end well for her, conspiring everything that she had to go through. Honestly, I am not sure how she handled it all. If I were in her situation, I wouldn’t be able to. Not once did she give up, she kept on going.

Most what I was curious about was Emika and Hideo, and way that last book ended, I couldn’t help but wonder if the two of them would reunite at some point in the book. Despite what Hideo did, and I know he only did it because of his brother. I wondered what would happen when he found out that Zero was his brother all this time. I hoped that Emika was the one who would tell him, he deserves to know. It was clear that the two of them had strong feelings for one another still, even if they tried to deny it. I saw it anytime that the two of them were together. It was clear that the two of them would do anything for each other. Even if they might not known it at first, they were in love. I hoped, and I rooted for them to find their way back to each other. It seemed as the two of them made each other happy. They needed each other.

There were a lot twists in WILDCARD that even I was not expecting, especially about Zero. I was as shocked as Emika was when she found out that Zero was not real. That was not a twist I saw coming. My heart broke for Hideo when I found out, I can’t imagine of how he feel when he find out and I knew that he would. I loved that there were more Zero’s story in this book, I got to know him more and it was impossible for me to dislike him anymore. Instead, my heart broke for him, I cannot imagine going through what he had go through, being taken away from his family at that age. I am not even sure if I can explain how much I loved this book, I am still going through the emotions. If you love young adult fantasy, be sure to check this series out. You won’t forget it.

When Caroline Sears receives the news that her unborn baby girl has a heart defect, she is devastated. It is 1970 and there seems to be little that can be done. But her brother-in-law, a physicist, tells her that perhaps there is. Hunter appeared in their lives just a few years before—and his appearance was as mysterious as his past. With no family, no friends, and a background shrouded in secrets, Hunter embraced the Sears family and never looked back.

Now, Hunter is telling her that something can be done about her baby's heart. Something that will shatter every preconceived notion that Caroline has. Something that will require a kind of strength and courage that Caroline never knew existed. Something that will mean a mind-bending leap of faith on Caroline's part.

And all for the love of her unborn child.

Heartfelt. This story will take your breath away.

I have been reading DIANE CHAMBERLAIN for years, and there haven’t been a single book of hers that I did not fall in love with. It had been a few years since I last read book by her, and I was ecstatic when I found out that she wrote new book. THE DREAM DAUGHTER was unlike her other books, and it had an interesting aspect, time travel. I love time travel books, and THE DREAM DAUGHTER fit that genre perfectly. The love that Caroline had for her unborn daughter, Joanna and the lengths she went through, so she could save her. It was heartbreaking to see her lose her daughter in end, when she realized that she traveled 9 years in the future. I cannot begin to imagine of what must been going through her mind, how hard it must been watch her with another family, calling another woman, ‘mom’. I did wondered if she was going to tell Joanna and convince her to come back with her. Spending more time with family, she realized how much Joanna was loved. I do wonder if she ended up going back if she didn’t find out the news about Joe, or if she ended up staying so she could be close to her daughter.

Hunter, I had a feeling that something different about him, and yet I never imagined that he was a time traveler. I do know that telling her about time traveling, it saved Joanna’s life. I loved the connection she formed with Joanna, even if she wasn’t aware that she was her mother. I do know it’s why they formed such fast bond with one another. It was clear how much she loved her daughter, and how much it hurt her to have to leave her behind. Caroline went through so much, just to that her daughter would be okay, only to lose her in the end. At same time I was glad that she got to see that Joanna was taken care of and loved. I know that in the end that what she wanted for her daughter, to be happy, and healthy. The ending had me smiling of course, I was hoping that the two of them would end up reuniting at the end.

THE DREAM DAUGHTER was an astonishing book about mother’s love. There were a lot of emotions that went through me. I cried along with Caroline, I grieved, and I worried. I felt all the emotions that Caroline was feeling through the books. It is clear to say that I fell in love with this book fast. I am already eager to see what DIANE CHAMBERLAIN has in store for us next.

Beautifully written. Inspirational.

Jesse Lachlin is cursed.

So the town folklore says, but while Jesse’s had his fair share of tragedy, the only curse he believes is in his grandmother’s will: in order to inherit his family farm he must win the approval of his childhood best friend, the girl he froze out his freshman year, Scarlett Copeland.

Scarlett Copeland is psychic.

Glory Gardner tells Scarlett she has hidden psychic abilities, but Scarlett thinks Glory is delusional. What is real is Scarlett’s father’s irrational fears, controlling attitude, and the dark secrets at home. Scarlett may have a way to escape, but there’s a hitch: she’ll have to rely on the one person she used to trust, the same boy who broke her heart, Jesse Lachlin.

Each midnight meeting pushes Jesse and Scarlett to confront their secrets and their feelings for each other. But as love blooms, the curse rears its ugly head…

Heartbreaking, beautifully written story.

I have been a huge KATIE MCGARRY fan, ever since I read Pushing The Limits series few years earlier. So far, there was not a book by her that I didn’t love. When I found out that she wrote a new book, I knew that I needed to check it out. I had a feeling that I was going to fall in love with it. I was right. ONLY A BREATH APART was one of her most heart wrenching novels that I have read, at least for me it was. At the same time, it pulled you in to the point where you found yourself reading late into night. I was on family vacation when I started the book and had more time to read then I usually do. ONLY A BREATH APART was magical, filled with a lot of emotions. I was still going through the emotions long after I finished the book. My heart broke for both Jesse and Scarlett, and I hoped that both would be able to get their happily after. I loved that the story started from when both were young and continued as they were older. I enjoyed reading from both of their point of views, because that way I got glimpse of both, Jesse and Scarlett and their emotions, thoughts. Reading from their point of view, I felt as I got to know them better and be able to relate to them better.

From start, I wondered if they would reunite. I was curious if reason Jesse decided to patch things up with Scarlett, so he could get her vote. As book progressed, as the two of them started spending time together, I could tell how much Jesse cared about Scarlett. How Jesse tried to protect Scarlett when he found out about Scarlett’s father. I knew there was something not right about Scarlett’s father from the start, and I also knew that her mother would never leave him, not the way that she kept making excuses for him. I hated her father. I do wish that Scarlett told someone sooner and got out of that situation faster. I also knew if Scarlett’s mother let him stay, control her, one day he would end up killing her. I was glad that there was someone for Scarlett in the end, to help her through it. I can’t even begin to imagine how it is to go through something so horrific. I loved the scenes between Jesse and Scarlett, it was clear how much they cared for one another. When I reached the end of book, I did wonder what happened to them after. Despite the story being sad, I couldn’t put it down. There wasn’t a single moment in the book that did not keep my attention, it was breathtaking.

ONLY A BREATH APART is a story that will make you cry, it did with me few times, and a story that you will think about afterwards. Me, I couldn’t get out of my mind for while once I reached the end. I knew there was a reason that I loved KATIE MCGARRY novels. I am already eager to see what she has in store for us next. ONLY A BREATH APART will break your heart, and at the same time it will warm your heart. It’s…. haunting.

Three skilled aviators determined to help win the war. Three brave women who know their place is not at home.

At the height of World War II, the British Air Transport Auxiliary need help. A group of young women volunteer for action, but the perils of their new job don’t end on the tarmac. Things are tough in the air, but on the ground their abilities as pilots are constantly questioned.
There is friction from the start between the new recruits. Spirited American Lizzie turns heads with her audacity, but few can deny her flying skills. She couldn’t be more different from shy, petite Ruby, who is far from diminutive in the sky. It falls to pragmatic pilot May to bring the women together and create a formidable team capable of bringing the aircraft home.

As these very different women fight to prove themselves up to the task at hand, they are faced with challenges and tragedies at every turn. They must fight for equal pay and respect while handling aircraft that are dangerously ill-equipped; meanwhile, lives continue to be lost in the tumult of war.

Determined to assist the war effort doing what they love, can May, Lizzie and Ruby put aside their differences to overcome adversity, and will they find love in the skies?

Historical fiction that you will fall in love with.

I have read multiple historical fiction through the years, and yet I never read anything like THE SPITFIRE GIRLS . I read it in one day because I could not force myself to put this book down. THE SPITFIRE GIRLS is one of things that I love about historical fiction, and it is inspirational book which you will find yourself thinking about, long after you reach the last page. I fell in love with May, Lizzie and Ruby’s stories and I wanted to know what would happen next. I wasn’t fond of Lizzie in beginning, mostly the way that she acted, as if she was better than everyone. I had a feeling if she kept acting like that and treating everything like it was a competition that it would get her in trouble one day. I felt as if she did not even care that there was the war going on, I know that she did, but the way she acted. I was wondering how long it would take her to realize, that it not all about and that acting that way is not okay. I was glad to see her finally put into her place. Afterwards, it was as if she was a completely different person, she still had her moments. I do believe that her change is what brought her closer to May and Ruby. In beginning, I did not know how they put up with her, I would lose my patience a long time ago. I loved that no matter what, in the end there were always there for each other.

All three of them, were strong and brave, with everything they had to face. I can’t imagine having to fly without instruments and radio. I did not even know that it could be done until I read the book. I know that it makes flying a lot more dangerous. However, that did not stop them from flying. Besides Lizzie, Ruby was one of characters that I saw a significant change in through the book, and she was one of my favorite characters in the book. You could tell in beginning that she did not have that much confidence in herself, and constantly May had remind her, to believe in herself, in her skills. As the book progressed, you could tell that she started to get more confidence in herself. I hated her mother in law, and how she convinced Tom that it wasn’t a good idea. I was hoping that he would come to his senses, see how good of flier she is and she can do it. I am glad that he finally did, and that they finally got their wedding. Ruby went through a lot, and yet she never gave up, not once. May, I loved her too and I was glad that she was finally available to reunite with her parents. I am glad that she found Ben, she needed someone like Ben. I was hoping she come to her senses and see how much Ben cared about her, he was always there when she needed him, always checking on her. Those two belonged with each other.

I had no idea that THE SPITFIRE GIRLS was based on true story until the end of the book. I loved every chapter, every page. There isn’t a single moment where it won’t keep your attention, where you won’t be on edge of your seat. It did not take me long, to fall in love with the story and the characters. THE SPITFIRE GIRLS is a story that will stay with me, forever. A story that I will one day return to. If you love historical fiction, mixed with romance, pick it up today. A book that deserves more than five stars.

Breathtaking, heart aching. A masterpiece.

Beautifully written, breath taking love story.

I could not get enough of this story, every chapter, every page had me craving for more. There were a part of me that wanted to see how it would end, for James and Evelyn, and another part where I did not want reach the end, because I did not want it to end. ONLY WANT YOU is a love story that you will not be available to pull yourself away from. I already know that it will be one of books that I will end up re-reading in the future. I finished recently and still thinking about it, wondering what will happen with James and Evelyn afterwards. Reading ONLY WANT YOU I felt attached to both of characters and felt as if they became my friends as well. Writing the book from both James and Evelyn’s point of view, it worked out well because you got to know both of characters, and what they are thinking, feeling. If I were asked which one was my favorite character, I don’t think that I would be available to pick because I loved them both. I was rooting for the both from the start.

It was clear that there was attraction between two of them, from the moment that two of them met and started working together. James and Evelyn seemed to click, and they seemed to work well together as well. They made a great team. I knew that Evelyn had feelings for him, even if she tried to deny it, and I understood why she did it. But as two spend time together, I could tell that it was harder for her to deny their feelings for one another. Once the two of them finally started dating, I knew that there was only time that somebody was going to find out. It was just bad luck how her boss managed to find out. I never liked her boss, I felt as if he did not appreciate her, and Evelyn worked hard to prove herself. I wish that he could seen that. Of course, I loved the ending, how could I not? It had me tearing up as well, the two of them belong together and deserved their happily after.
I have most of SHANE K. MORGAN novels, and every time that I do, I fall more in love with her stories and her writing. I loved all her books that I have read so far, however ONLY WANT YOU has became one of my favorites. I cannot wait to see what SHANE K. MORGAN will come up with next. This is a book that deserves more than five starts, and look at that gorgeous cover, how can you not want to read it?

A love story that will have you edge on your seat until the end, the story that you won’t forget.

As war takes its toll, the love and care of two brave young nurses become everything to the wounded soldiers they tend...

1914. Two plucky young nurses pledge to help the war effort: Mairi, a wholesome idealist hoping to leave behind her past and Elsie, a glamorous single mother with a weakness for handsome soldiers. Despite their differences, the pair become firm friends.

At the emergency medical shelter where they're based, Elsie and Mairi work around the clock to treat wounded soldiers. It's heart-breaking work and they are at constant risk from shelling, fire and disease. Occasionally there are happier times… parties, trips and letters. And maybe even the possibility of love with an attractive officer in their care…

But as the war continues and the stress of duty threatens to pull the two women apart, will Elsie and Mairi's special nurses' bond be strong enough to see them through?

A breath taking, heart aching story about friendship, love and sacrifice during the war.
Have you read a book, that broke your heart, but at the same time you could not pull yourself away? WAR NURSES was that book for me. I am a huge history, historical fiction fan and this book was everything I love about historical fiction. WAR NURSES was a very hard book to read, and was heart breaking at times. Despite the hard subject, it is a hard book to pull away from. Once you pick up the book, page after page will have you wondering what will happen next. Just like history, I love anything to do with medicine and medical field, so this was a great mix for me. I know that if it wasn’t for school, work and homework, I would finished it faster than I did. When I reached the ending, I thought about it for hours afterwards, and I even recommended to few of my friends as well. WAR NURSES is one of those books that will have you thinking, a book that you will find yourself thinking about from time to time. I came across it on Amazon, and I did not know what to expect since I never read anything by the author before. Now that I have, I cannot wait to check out her other works. WAR NURSES reminded me of why I love historical fiction so much.

Friendship between Mairi and Elsie was unexpected, and considering how different the two of them were, they became best of friends. I wondered if war drawn them together, or because they had to work together side by side. I do believe that the bond that the two of them created with one another was special. How many soldiers they saved, treated. They had their differences, and even when war threatened to tear them apart, they found a way to each other. There weren’t just best friends, but through this difficult time, the two of them became family. They even thought like sisters at times. When I started reading the book, I had no idea that it was based on true story until the end. I ended up researching more about them once I finished the book, I was captivated by their story. I do believe that I learned so much about them, just by reading the book, and not just them, and the war as well. The sacrifices those women made, the lives they saved, and lives that they tried to save. To do, what Mairi and Elsie did took a lot of courage. To me, they are heroes. I am not surprised that everyone loved them. How could you not after everything that they done?

Writing this review, it brings me back the emotions that I was feeling while I was reading the book. LIZZIE PAGE created a masterpiece. It was such inspirational story. A highly recommended book.

At nineteen, Savannah Dean escaped her family, leaving behind a note and the people who caused her so much pain.

Now, she lives on her own and keeps to herself.

At nineteen, Kent Lawson’s girlfriend betrayed him, leaving him behind with a broken heart and a whole lot of mistrust in women.

Now, he lives on his own and shares himself with nearly every pretty thing that walks by but only for one night.

When Savannah and Kent meet, they can’t stand each other.

Kent knows she’s hiding something, and he despises liars.

And Savannah has nothing but secrets.

Heart aching. Mysterious. Electrifying.

I am not sure, if I can clearly describe my emotions right now. This, one of stories, where you find your emotions everywhere. When I finished it, I wondered why I did not read it earlier. I have read multiple books by NATASHA PRESTON previously, and I think that LIE TO ME has been my favorite one, so far. I did feel that it had a slow start, but it did not take long for the story to pick up. I was hooked fast. Title was first what hooked me to book, followed by the gorgeous cover. The title fit the book perfectly. At first, I disliked Kent, I hated how he was treating Savannah, considering that he didn’t know her that well. I did not think I would like him at all, he seemed type guy that I wouldn’t like. I was wrong. Kent surprised me. Once I found out his story, it made sense why he acted that way, he had trouble trusting people. It was one of reasons I wished Savannah told him everything from start, I had a feeling that it would not end well if she didn’t. I believe if he knew from start, he wouldn’t been as angry as he was when he found out about her past.

There was no denying it, as much as Savannah wanted to, there was an attraction between the two of them. I did wonder that part of him he treated her, was due to his feeling towards Savannah, ones that he did not want to admit it. I did wonder how long she was going to deny it, how long they were going to keep playing these games with one another. While reading the book, you could tell that there was always tension between the two of them, it was impossible to not notice it. I understood why Kent was angry when he found the truth, he was hurt, but at the same time he should thought why she kept it from him. I cannot begin to imagine to go through something that tragic. I hoped that Kent would realize that and come to his senses. LIE TO ME will keep you on the edge of seat from beginning to end, and you will find yourself crave for more afterwards. There was not a single moment on the book where I wasn’t glued to the book. I had to force myself to pull away.

I knew that Simon was dangerous, just by way he kept bugging her, showing at her place. Even I did not see that ending coming. I did not realize how dangerous he was until that moment. I don’t think that anybody did. That scene was intense, I could feel my heart racing while I was reading it. I can’t wait to see what NATASHA PRESTON has in store next. An author that you will love. I loved Savannah and Kent’s story.

~EXCERPT~

Evelyn finished her wine and set the empty glass next to her
laptop. “Thanks for inviting me over. Surprisingly, I feel more relaxed here
than I do at the office.”
Then stay.
“Glad you’re comfortable.”
Our eyes remained linked for a while, until I lowered mine to her
full lips, swallowing hard as the memory of kissing them rushed me.
I blinked the vision away, wanting to respect Evelyn’s wishes and
her job.
“More wine?” I offered, standing.
She shuddered a tad and looked at her empty glass. “No, um, I
should get going.”
“Oh. All right.”
Please stay.
Evelyn closed her laptop, packing it away into her bag. I brought
the empty glasses into the kitchen.
She stood as I walked back to the desk. “Thank you for dinner and
for a different space to work.”
“You’re welcome.”
I could see apprehension within her fluttering eyes. She was more
nervous than ever.
Evelyn gnawed at her bottom lip as her eyes slowly glanced over me.
Then she squeezed them shut as if
fighting back her emotions. I was tempted to step closer.
It’s okay.
You don’t have to fight
.
“I should go,” she said again, opening her eyes.
Please don’t
leave
,
my mind shouted.
“Okay,” I said instead and walked her to the door.
She lifted her hand to open it, hesitated, but then opened it at
last.
What was going on inside that head of hers?
Was she as conflicted as I was?
“See you tomorrow,” she said softly, barely meeting my gaze before
she stepped out of my apartment.
“See you.”
Evelyn shut the door behind her.
A sigh of regret gushed from my lips. Seconds later, I turned to
go shower, but urgent knocking made me halt in my steps. I spun around and quickly
opened the door.
My brows shot up. “Evelyn?”
