I came across Sweep series few years earlier, while volunteering at library but didn’t get chance to read it, till now. I came across it again at library near my job a week earlier and decided to check it out. When I read the summary, I knew that I was going like it, I love any book that has to do with witches, magic, witchcraft. Only few pages in Book Of Shadows I fell in love with the story, knowing it would be impossible to put down. I was right. Sweep is type of series that you need to know what happens right away . Once I reached last page of Blood Witch I needed to see what would happen with everyone. What is Cal hiding? Was Hunter telling the truth? Will Bree and Morgan reconnect? I can’t wait to see what journey they will go on next. 

Sweep was different from other series I read about witchcraft. It Involved circles, Wicca which is barely mentioned in other books that I read. I found it surprisingly how Bree, Raven, Matt, Robbie easily accepted Wicca, how they believed in it that fast. Cal was very open about fact that he’s witch right from the start from the book. There aren’t many books about witches out there who admit it from beginning. But mostly all of them believed in and seemed to have formed a certain bond. I am curious to see if all of them will stick to Cal’s coven till the end, or will others end up joining Bree’s. I am eager how many of them be left towards the end. There is always something happening, always has the reader on the edge of their seat. 

Morgan: Loved her character right from start, there is something about her. I think it’s her dedication to the coven, her friends and Cal. I had a feeling that there was something different about her from the first circle that Cal cast how she reacted and that isn’t a normal reaction. Also what she was able to do. She changed as book progressed, and seemed more confident, more stronger then she was in first book. She gone through so much. Finding out that she was adopted, becoming enemies with her best friend, finding truth about her real mother. I don’t know how she handled all of that. I got feeling that it’s only beginning. Something unexpected is going to come her way, I have a feeling about it. 


Cal : He cares about Morgan, I know that he does. Yet, at same time I got feeling that he’s not being completely honest with her, that he’s hiding something. I got that feeling of way he acted in Blood Witch, he seemed more distant and not around that much when she needed him. It’s makingme wonder, can Hunter be right? Could he be using her? There is something off about him. At same time, how he protects her, looks at me tells me that he does love her. I’m eager to see what journey the two of them will go on next. What other obstacles they will have to face. Will they make it? Will their love survive? 


Sweep Volume 1 is worth checking out, especially if you love books about witchcraft. A book that you will find yourself wondering about afterwards, a book that you will love.

Another heartbreaking, breathtaking novel by Katie McGarry. After finishing Take Me On Katie has become one of my favorites, so far there hasn’t been a book I read by her that I didn’t enjoy. It seems the more I read Pushing The Limits series, more I fall in love with it. Katie has a way to pull a reader into a story. Take Me On wasn’t any different. What I love about the series, the characters feel so real, and everything that is happening to me. I’m not sure why, but out of all books, Take Me On was most intense and actually my most favorite one. It had more action. It always had something happening. I Loved the cover for Take Me On, you can tell by the cover, how the two of them are leaned into each other something big is going to happen. When I saw the cover, it made me curious, even before I read the summary. Once again I wasn’t disappointed. 


West & Haley: Besides Issaiah & Rachel, West & Haley were my favorite couple; there was something unique about the two of them. The two of them were so different; I didn’t see them falling for one another, especially West. When he was first introduced in Crash Into Me I wasn’t his biggest fan, he seemed like he didn’t care about anything, just himself. However as this book progressed, I saw that it was not the case. He cared about his sister. He cared about Haley. If a reason he’s so messed up is because his father didn’t treat him like a father should. My heart went out for him when his father kicked him out, when he had a talk with Rachel, I knew he blamed himself but I didn’t know how much. I had a feeling he cared for Haley when he went after those guys, when he agreed to fight, for her. Who would do something like that? Unless they had feelings for that person. I saw how much he changed through the book. How Haley changed him, affected him. By end of book I almost didn’t recognize him, it was like two different people. As for Haley, I felt bad for her, where she was living, how she had given up fighting after what happened with Matt, how he felt that it was her fault. I could tell when she was training again and training West that she missed it. I’m glad that West made her see that, and she ended up going back. The Love between two of them were real. How they looked at each other, how they acted around each other. I knew that they belonged together. 


Take Me On is a novel about choices, and how the choices that you make, can affect everyone around you, especially the ones that you love. Like Haley and her living situation and her choice giving up fighting after what happened Matt. I hated him from a start, I hoped that West would teach him lesson somehow. No guy should hit a girl, ever. It’s no wonder that she was afraid of him. She was probably afraid that he might do it again, there was few times I expected him to try. Once again I loved reading from both West & Haley’s point of view. Since last book I always wondered what was going through West’s mind, especially after what happened with Rachel. What was he thinking? Feeling? After reading this book, I love West and I saw how hard he worked, to be different. I was proud of his accomplishments. This book made me smile, cry and even get angry at times or frustrated with characters. Take Me On filled with Suspense, love, drama and I’m eager to see what story Katie comes up with next.

A must read. Have you ever come across a novel that stayed with you, long after you finished it? The Reader is that book. I finished it not that long ago and yet I find myself thinking about it, about the story and everything that happened. I can see why it’s considered a classic, one of the best books. An Unforgettable story. I wasn’t even aware of it actually; my mom was the one that told me about it, told me that I should read it. She told me that I was going to love it and she was right. It sucked me into story from the first sentence to the last. It’s unlike any book that I read, it was unique, heartbreaking and I loved every minute of it. The Reader is a book that everyone should read, or at least give a chance. Once you pick it up, you find yourself hooked to Michael’s story. It’s worth every page. 


Michael & Hanna: Their relationship was unlike others, maybe because she was twice his age, or maybe if I wasn’t sure if it was love, or just physical. I had feeling that Hanna didn’t love him, just had a feeling that there was something not right between their relationship. Maybe it was way that she talked to him, was with him. It made me wonder: Did she actually love him, or was she using him? I knew that Michael loved her, especially when book progressed, and how he reacted at trial, how he recorded all those books for her, sent it to her while she was in jail. He loved her. I know that he realized that she didn’t, at least not a way that he loved her. I knew it hurt him. I would be hurt in his situation too. Even after all this year, knowing what she done, that she used him, he still loved her. It was unlike any other love stories I read. 


The Reader had a very strong voice, and it was pretty easy for me to imagine what was going on. It was vivid, descriptive. It was one of things that hooked me to the story. I even could imagine the trial while it was going on. I did wonder what Hanna was actually thinking during all that time, especially during trial. What went through her mind before she killed herself, did she feel guilty of what happened? One of most overwhelming novels that I read, filled with so much emotion. Most Original.

I loved Fitzpatrick’s debut novel My Life Next Door and when I found out about new book I got pretty excited. Though I enjoyed My Life Next Door then What I Thought Was True but it was a book that I couldn’t pull away from. If it wasn’t for work, I would have. It was one of most realistic Contemporary YA novels that I read this year. It’s a book that you found yourself thinking about while you were reading and afterwards. There wasn’t a moment I didn’t find myself wondering what was going happen with Gwen, Cass, Nic next. There were unexpected twists that even I didn’t see coming. What appealed to me most, that I could actually see all those things happen in real life. It was real, and not many YA novels are like that anymore. 

Gwen & Cass : From start when Cass was mentioned, I wondered what happened between two of them, that got Gwen not want be around him. I knew that there had be something. I loved the flashbacks between the two of them. Once I found out truth, I felt angry with Cass at first but then I got feelings that it wasn’t whole story. Cass didn’t seem the type, to do something that hurtful to someone. I seen way that he acted around Gwen, I knew that he cared about her more than she realized. I knew that she did too, but just when things between two of them started get good again, something seemed to get in way. I wondered if they would be able to move past that, to start over again. If Gwen would forgive them. Once she seemed to, I loved the scenes between two of them, you could tell how much they loved each other. I loved fact that it didn’t happen till almost to the end, it made the story more realistic. 


I loved the relationship that Gwen had with her cousin, Nic. It’s not often that family is close, at least I don’t see it that often.I was glad to see that she had somebody to talk to, someone who would always be, no matter what. At first I wasn’t even aware that they were family. Nic and Gwen had a special bond, a bond that doesn’t happen that often among families. They looked out to one another. They weren’t just family, they are best friends. It reminds me of me and my parents, we are close. I loved Nic. I felt bad for him towards the end though, but at same time glad that he had Gwen, to be there for him. 


What I Thought Was True had so much realistic themes. Exploring deep relationships between families, friends, past relationships, focuses on how secrets and lies can destroy any relationship. This novel focused a lot on anger, mistake and forgivness. How can you not love a book like that? I know that I did. A Must Read. For Everyone.

Man, what a cliffhanger. Julie Kagawa has a way to keep you hanging, wanting for more. That’s how I felt when I came to the of the book. I knew that it was coming in way, after all Oracale showed him earlier in book, but at same time I thought that he would find a way to avoid it. Find a way to stop it. Of course I didn’t expect Keirran the one to do it. That’s a real betrayal right there. I doubt that even Meghan have trouble forgiving him for that act. Poor Kenzie. I can’t imagine what go through her mind when Ethan doesn’t show up. I had my feelings about Keirran that there was something not right about him, there was something that I didn’t like about him. After what he did to Ethan, dislike him more. After everything he gone through with him, to help him? He even went with him after he hurt Kenzie and this how he repays? He betray his own family to save one he loves? There is something wrong with that. I knew there was a reason that I love Kagawa novels, they are filled with suspense, unexpected twists. But did she have to end it like that? Now I am going keep wondering what happens next. 

Ethan & Kenzie : They are my two favorite characters in this book. I’m kind of hoping that maybe part of next be written in Kenzie point of view, I was always curious what she was thinking. The two of them are so different in a way that at first didn’t see them together. Now, I think they are cute together, right for each other. Kenzie’s character is unlike any female character when it comes to books like these, she’s strong, fierce. Despite her being sick, she went with Ethan to help their friend and she would take no for an answer. I can tell that she can take care of herself and handle herself, it’s a girl that you don’t want to piss off. She gone through so much, but yet she keeps going without a complain. That takes so much courage. I loved the scenes between her and Kenzie where they weren’t fighting, they put a smile on my face. I could tell that he was falling in love with her, before he realized it. I didn’t think I see a day where Ethan Chase would fall in love. He even told her he loved her before he left. My heart broke at end. Now what’s going happen with them? How it would affect them. 

The Iron Traitor Even that title gives you a clue that something bad would happen, I just didn’t think it be Meghan’s son. She’s going be heartbroken when she finds out. I wonder if that’s why she tried keep Ethan and Keirran apart because she had feeling that something bad might happen. Though I’m sure it wasn’t anything like this. Poor Meghan’s mother, he promised that he would return. If she finds out what happened, it will shatter her more than it did already. I am kind of hoping that she won’t find out, or they find a way to bring him back. Though Kagawa’s original Iron Fey series was better, the spin off is pretty good. It will keep you on reading, and you fall love with characters. It’s worth checking out.
