The Hotel Nantucket.

CONTAINS SPOILERS

After a tragic fire in 1922 that killed 19-year-old chambermaid, Grace Hadley, The Hotel Nantucket descended from a gilded age gem to a mediocre budget-friendly lodge to inevitably an abandoned eyesore — until it's purchased and renovated top to bottom by London billionaire, Xavier Darling. Xavier hires Nantucket sweetheart Lizbet Keaton as his general manager, and Lizbet, in turn, pulls together a charismatic, if inexperienced, staff who share the vision of turning the fate of the hotel around. They face challenges in getting along with one another (and with the guests), in overcoming the hotel's bad reputation, and in surviving the (mostly) harmless shenanigans of Grace Hadley herself — who won't stop haunting the hotel until her murder is acknowledged.

Filled with the emotional tension and multiple points of view that characterize Elin's books (The Blue Bistro, Golden Girl) as well as an added touch of historical reality, Hotel Nantucket offers something for everyone in this summer drama for the ages.

Heartwarming.

I shouldn't be surprised by now. I started reading Elin Hildebrand books in 2012 and fell in love the most. The last few novels I have read made me fall in love with her writing more. There were so many emotions while reading those books. I looked at her books every time. I didn't think that her books could surprise me anymore. That's until I picked up The Hotel Nantucket , and I fell in love once again. The Hotel Nantucket as all her books were written from multiple points of view, but at the same time was different from her other books. I don't think I could count how often I stayed up late reading the book. Then, when I was ready to put down to turn for the night, something unexpected happened, causing me to spend a few more hours reading. The Hotel Nantucket is the book you will fall in love with and even recommend to your friends. The Hotel Nantucket made me wish that I could visit Nantucket.

I love books that are based around summertime. I loved that The Hotel Nantucket was mixed of genres, historical fiction, mystery, crime, and romance. Those are all my favorite genres to read. If I were asked which of the characters were my favorite, I might have to list a few of them. There were a few I was not too fond of, like Alessandra, Xavier, and JJ. Alessandra had moments when she was nice to others, but I didn't like what she did to get what she wanted. I had a feeling that it wouldn't end well for her. Xavier, I felt he didn't really care about staff and hotel that much, just based on what he did after they got the good review. I loved Lizbet right from the start and how she turned the hotel around. But, of course, she couldn't do it without all the staff helping her on the way. By the end, it was as if almost all of them had become like a family. All their emotions and the way that everyone worked together. I loved that there were multiple points of view, making me connect with each character differently.

I loved the author's note about Nantucket at the end. The places she mentioned all sounded so amazing, making me wish I could visit the island right away. I know for a fact that Nantucket is the one place that I plan to visit in the future. I am curious to see where her next book will take us. Even if you haven’t read any of Elin Hildebrand books, I would highly recommend checking The Hotel Nantucket . This story is worth much more than five stars, and it's worth every page.

Spectacular.
