How To Fail At Flirting.

 CONTAINS SPOILERS

One daring to-do list and a crash course in flirtation turn a Type A overachiever's world upside down.

When her flailing department lands on the university's chopping block, Professor Naya Turner's friends convince her to shed her frumpy cardigan for an evening on the town. For one night her focus will stray from her demanding job and she'll tackle a new kind of to-do list. When she meets a charming stranger in town on business, he presents the perfect opportunity to check off the items on her list. Let the guy buy her a drink. Check. Try something new. Check. A no-strings-attached hookup. Check…almost.

Jake makes her laugh and challenges Naya to rebuild her confidence, which was left toppled by her abusive ex-boyfriend. Soon she's flirting with the chance at a more serious romantic relationship—except nothing can be that easy. The complicated strings around her dating Jake might destroy her career.

Naya has two options. She can protect her professional reputation and return to her old life or she can flirt with the unknown and stay with the person who makes her feel like she's finally living again.

 Heartwarming.

I came across this book on Goodreads. Usually, I don't read reviews before reading the book. In this case, I did. There were few positive reviews about the book, and I couldn't help but get more curious about the book. I placed the book on hold at the library. Now that I read it, How To Fail At Flirting is the book that I wished I discovered earlier. How did I not know about it earlier? I can see the reason behind the reviews. I did feel that the beginning started slow, but it did not last long. Once the book picked up, I was hooked; I fell in love with the characters and the story. The emotions in this book… were vivid, and I felt everything Naya was feeling. I loved that How To Fail At Flirting had some humor added to it, making it more interesting to read. You couldn't help but love Naya, and she's the type of person I would love to have a friend.

Jake & Naya . I loved the two of them from the beginning. I'm not sure how I knew, but I had a feeling that there was something special between the two of them. I could tell how much Naya meant to him, that she was more than the girl she met at the bar. I knew that Naya felt the same about him, even if she didn't want to admit it at the start. What Naya went through with her abusive ex, Jake saved her. Naya did not trust guys, even if it been years since the abuse. I saw the way that she pulled away from Jake at times. She was scared. Plus, having her as the person who would decide if she had a job complicated things between the two of them. At the same time, I felt as she wanted an excuse to pull away from him. Naya needed someone like Jake. I was rooting for happily ever after for both.

How To Fail At Flirting wasn't just a book about love. It's a story about friendship, courage. What Naya had, to go through what she had, is courage. I feel that having Jake gave her the courage to move on. This is a book that is worth giving a chance to.
