Two years before Beatrice Prior made her choice, the sixteen-year-old son of abnegation's faction leader did the same. Tobias's transfer to Dauntless is a chance to begin again. Here, he will not be called the name his parents gave him. Here, he will not let fear turn him into a cowering child.
Newly christened "Four," he discovers during initiation that he will succeed in Dauntless. Initiation is only the beginning, though; Four must claim his place in the Dauntless hierarchy. His decisions will affect future initiates as well as uncover secrets that could threaten his own future--and the future of the entire faction system.
Two years later, Four is poised to take action, but the course is still unclear. The first new initiate who jumps into the net might change all that. With her, the way to righting their world might become clear. With her, it might become possible to be Tobias once again.
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth comes a companion volume to the worldwide bestselling Divergent series, told from the perspective of the immensely popular character Tobias. The four pieces included here--"The Transfer," "The Initiate," "The Son," and "The Traitor"--plus three additional exclusive scenes, give readers an electrifying glimpse in to the history and heart of Tobias, and set the stage for the epic saga of the Divergent trilogy.

I didn’t even know that there was a story out there, about Four. Besides Tris, he is my favorite character. You can’t help but love him and once I read this collection, I remember the reason that I loved him. He’s type of a guy that you won’t be afraid to bring home, to meet your parents. Once I read the short stories, it made me miss Divergent , it was my favorite dystopian series and I found myself wishing that there were more books out there. What I loved about Four was fact that you got to see a different side of Four, before he met Tris. How he chooses and why he chooses Dauntless. He was a completely different person then, and in beginning I was actually wondering if it was the same person that I read about in Divergent. I guess in my mind, I didn’t see Four being afraid, even the fears he had to face. It was like I saw him in completely different light. I couldn’t put it down, I wanted to see how Four became the character he was in Divergent.
If I didn’t dislike Marcus before, I did even more while reading the stories. What he had him going through. It’s no wonder that he choose Dauntless, so he could finally get away from him. I could tell how afraid he was to at first, and I don’t blame him for it, considering what he had him go through, right before the choosing ceremony. To me, he was the monster. All those emotions, the fear that he felt I found myself feeling as well. To me, it felt like I was right there besides him, going through everything that Four was facing. You can’t help but love Roth’s writing, she has a way to hook you into the story. Of course I loved seeing scenes between Four and Tris, from Four’s point of view, I had always wondered what he was thinking through it all.
Four: A Divergent Collection, is worth checking out, especially for Divergent fans. A story that will have you on edge of your seat. Be ready for thrilling ride.
