GOODREADS SUMMARY
Since she'd been on the outside, she'd survived an Aether storm, she'd had a knife held to her throat, and she'd seen men murdered.
This was worse.
Exiled from her home, the enclosed city of Reverie, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland--known as The Death Shop--are slim. If the cannibals don't get her, the violent, electrified energy storms will. She's been taught that the very air she breathes can kill her. Then Aria meets an Outsider named Perry. He's wild--a savage--and her only hope of staying alive.
A hunter for his tribe in a merciless landscape, Perry views Aria as sheltered and fragile--everything he would expect from a Dweller. But he needs Aria's help too; she alone holds the key to his redemption. Opposites in nearly every way, Aria and Perry must accept each other to survive. Their unlikely alliance forges a bond that will determine the fate of all who live under the never sky.
Is it me or does Dystopian books I been reading lately get better? Because ones that I read this year so far been amazing. I wouldn’t be able to pick favorite between the two. First, I loved the title of this one : Under The Never Sky , it’s actually what grabbed my attention from the start, it had me wonder what it is about. Both the cover and the title has the reader wondering. Before I even picked the book up, I had feeling that it was going be an adventure book, just by looking at the cover. It tells a bit of story, you can tell that the girl in cover will set on some sort of journey. That’s what it ended up being, a journey of survival and wasn’t what I expected. It was better. Unique.
Adventure : I love novels that deal with adventure, especially survival novels. There is always something going on and you find yourself rooting for the character. In a way, this was a bit like Hunger Games but with different twist. Under The Never Sky, Aria was on her own, she was forced out before she even knew what was going on. I was rooting for her all the way. Though at times it might not seemed like it, she was strong, she gone through so much. I don’t think I would made it as far as she did. Even if she had Perry to help her too when needed, she didn’t give up. I saw how much she changed by end of the book. Aria was stronger, more independent. The descriptions of everything that happened, it was so vivid. I could see myself going through all obstacles with them. It felt real. Every scene, had me crave for more, and made me wonder if they are going make it till the end.
Aria & Perry : How can you not love them? At start when Perry and Aria first came across each other, I didn’t like Perry of because how he treated her. As book progressed, he grew on me. At first I didn’t see Perry and Aria together because how different they were, the fact that they both seemed to despise one another. While their adventure progressed, I noticed how both of them started to care for each other, even if they wouldn’t admit it at first. Otherwise why would Perry come to her rescue, 3 times? First I had feeling he was using her, just to get what he wanted. Then I saw how he started acting around her. It made me sad at end when he realized that she isn’t coming out, it’s when I knew that he’s in love with her. I am eager to see how he react, when she will come back to him. I am hoping that their reunion be a happy one. I enjoyed reading book from both of their point of views, you got to know each character more, to connect with both of them. By end of the book, I loved them both.
Ending is making me wish I had second book. I need to know what’s going to happen next. With cliffhanger like that? It’s a series I see myself f reading multiple times in future. I heard there is going be a movie, it will be one amazing movie. I can now see why others are talking about this book. I read this book in 2 days because I couldn’t force myself to put it down. Under The Never Sky is one book I was glad that I checked out. It’s filled with passion, adventure, friendship and trust.
