How can anyone not love Harry Potter? It’s magical
It has been a while since I read Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone . First time I attempted to read it was in 8th grade but had hard time understand it so put it on hold till high school. After re-reading it few years later, I remembered why I feel in love with series. I can see why so many others love Harry Potter. It’s classic. I loved the illustrations at beginning of each chapter too, they were fascinating to look at it and they fit the chapter so well. Each chapter had me wonder what the illustration in next chapter will be. The cover of the book had the same affect for me. Even if you haven’t heard of Harry Potter before reading the first book, the cover itself will grab your attention. Besides others talking about it, cover was one of things that had my attention, it had me curious. Of course others talking about it, had my attention as well. I was wondering why it seemed so popular. Harry Potter was one series that I’m glad I checked out.
I loved the interaction between the characters. Of course Harry, Ron, Hermione & Dumbledore were my favorites. How can you not love them? Hermione did annoy me at first but then she grew on me and I learned to love her. I thought that Ron, Harry and Hermione made a strange trio because they are different. When I first read this book I didn’t see Hermione becoming friends with Harry and Ron, especially Ron. I didn’t think that how they treated her at first was fair, just because she was smart and wanted to follow the rules. I was glad that they gave her a chance towards the end. I believe that deep down they did care for her, otherwise they wouldn’t came to her rescue. I do know that their friendship will go a long way. Even though Ron and Hermione still arguing half of the time. The two of them stood by Harry’s side though unlike half of school seemed like.
There were parts in this book that were a bit slow, that was hard on keeping my attention. That’s why I gave it 4 stars, well more like 4.5 Stars. It did pick up pretty fast and once it did, I couldn’t pull myself away. As I was reading the book, I had a feeling that something was going to go wrong but I couldn’t figure out what was going go wrong. There was always something happening in the book, every chapter and each chapter seemed to be filled with even more suspense. I had a hate like relationship with Snape, it seemed no matter what Harry did, it was always wrong. He’s the reason that he lost most of points. At same time I was curious why he seemed to hate Harry so much, if there was a reason behind. It was hard for me to determine if I liked him or not. Quiddich, now that’s an fascinating game and it does sound a lot like soccer in way, expect the snitch is faster and they are flying on broomsticks and more dangerous too. I loved reading about the game, it always had my attention.
Harry Potter left me speechless, even if I have read it before. If you love books about magic, witches with suspense and adventure, Harry Potter is that book. If you haven’t read the series, you are missing out, It’s a book you will find yourself thinking about afterwards and re-reading in the future.
