For much of her life, Anne Morrow, the shy daughter of the U.S. ambassador to Mexico, has stood in the shadows of those around her, including her millionaire father and vibrant older sister, who often steals the spotlight. Then Anne, a college senior with hidden literary aspirations, travels to Mexico City to spend Christmas with her family. There she meets Colonel Charles Lindbergh, fresh off his celebrated 1927 solo flight across the Atlantic. Enthralled by Charles’s assurance and fame, Anne is certain the celebrated aviator has scarcely noticed her. But she is wrong.

Charles sees in Anne a kindred spirit, a fellow adventurer, and her world will be changed forever. The two marry in a headline-making wedding. Hounded by adoring crowds and hunted by an insatiable press, Charles shields himself and his new bride from prying eyes, leaving Anne to feel her life falling back into the shadows. In the years that follow, despite her own major achievements—she becomes the first licensed female glider pilot in the United States—Anne is viewed merely as the aviator’s wife. The fairy-tale life she once longed for will bring heartbreak and hardships, ultimately pushing her to reconcile her need for love and her desire for independence, and to embrace, at last, life’s infinite possibilities for change and happiness.

I haven’t heard of Linnberg’s, not till I picked up the novel. I love historical novels and when I came across THE AVIATOR’S WIFE in library I had a good feeling about, a feeling that it was going to be a great story. After reading the book I can see why it’s popular and why so many readers fell in love with the story. THE AVIATOR’S WIFE was intriguing, unlike any other historical books I have read before. A love story with twists. I wasn’t aware that it was an actual story till halfway through novel and then reading facts in story which seemed accurate, I looked it up. Of course that sparked my interest more once I realized that it was based on real events. I was blown away by the story, the characters. I felt all the emotions that Anne was feeling through the book. I fell in love with the story. It’s not just a love story but story about friendship, family, hope, acceptance, grief.

Anne was one of those characters that you can’t help but love. There weren’t a single moment in the book where I didn’t love her. I loved everything about her and the book fit well, from her point of view, a way for reader to see what Anne thought, how she was feeling at certain times. On more than one occasion I felt bad for her, she married Charles because she loved him but only end up being in his shadow. One of reasons that she became so well know, was because how famous her husband was and because of his last name. I felt like Anne wasn’t appreciated at all, even by her own husband. I liked Charles in beginning but as they married I saw him for who he truly was and I wondered if he actually cared about her at all. The way he treated her, especially after their son died. How can you just let go after your son was kidnapped and killed? I was wondering at that point if he even had heart. At same time when he did something unexpected I found myself having mixing feelings about the character. I can tell why Anne felt that she was in his shadow, because she was.

The historical aspects in the novel were amazing, I saw myself picturing everything while I was reading the novel. Once I reached the end of novel, I knew so much more about Linnberg’s that before and was fascinated by their story that I read even more, online. It’s not a happy story; you will shed tears few times you will also get angry, mostly at Charles. It’s a story that you will think about afterwards and have trouble letting go. An Unforgeable love story.

Maddy Spier has been in love with the boy next door forever. As his figure skating partner she spends time in his arms every day. But she’s also seen his arms around other girls—lots of other girls.

Gabe can't imagine skating with anyone but Maddy, and together they have a real chance at winning some serious gold medals. So, he’s determined to keep thinking of her like a sister. After all, he’s never had a romantic relationship that lasted for more than two weeks.

But when their coach assigns a new romantic skating program, everything changes. Will this be the big break that Maddy’s been hoping for or the big breakup that Gabe has always feared?

I was excited for this book and had high expectations of this novel. Ice Skating partners who also happen be neighbors and best friends who fall in love. How can you not want to read a story like this? When I read the summary, it sounded like a type of book that I was going to love. THE BOY NEXT DOOR turned out not to be what I expected it to be, I liked the book but not way that I thought I would. I thought it was a cute read that captured my attention enough, but not way that some others books had. First was due to fact that the novel started out slow for me, it took me almost half of the book to get into it. Though I got say that once things started picking up, it was hard for me to put it down. THE BOY NEXT DOOR just didn’t have the effect that I thought it would.

I have hate/ love relationship when it came to Gabe & Maddy’s realthionship. There were times where I wondered what Maddy saw in him, how she could possibly love someone like him? Then other times when he did something sweet, showed how much he cared for her which had me smiling. Most of the book I couldn’t figure out if I like them together or not. In beginning, I couldn’t stand Gabe and I hated the way he treated Maddy, well way that he seemed to want keep their relationship a secret. If he really liked her he wouldn’t even do it. I did wonder how long Maddy would go along with it, till she had enough. There were times I did wonder if Gabe actually loved her. By end of the book my opinion of him changed and I could see how much he cared about her.

There was some turn of events that I didn’t see coming. Most of all about Maddy’s father, just like her I was sure that he was having affair. Cancer was last that entered in my mind. I couldn’t believe that her own parents would hide something like that from her. Something that is life threatening. I did enjoy the ice skating version of the story even if I don’t know much about Ice Skating, I used to ice skate for fun when I was younger. I feel like I learned a bit more after reading the book. In general I think it was an interesting enough book that is worth picking up.

UPDATED REVIEW 9/7/2015

Did you ever read a book? One that every time you read it you fell in love with story more? THE DUFF was that particular book for me. Originally I came across novel back in 2012 and I remembered that it had a high impact on me. I decided to re-read and even if I already knew the story, I didn’t want to put it down. For a second time I fell in love with Wesley & Bianca’s story, but then their story is unlike any other love stories out there. Unlike other love stories out there Wesley and Bianca weren’t in love, the only reason that even communicated because Bianca needed an escape and Wesley was her only way out. By middle of the book the reader will find themselves rooting for them. I was. With Wesley I was like Bianca at first, I couldn’t stand Wesley but by middle of the book I couldn’t anymore, I loved him. I also enjoyed fact that there was a bit of humor added to the book.

WESLEY & BIANCA: Like I mentioned earlier the two of them made an interesting couple. Most of the book you could tell that no matter what Wesley did, it drove Bianca crazy and only time she put with it, is when she needed him. When they started it I wondered how long it last, and if they will be able to keep it to friends and benefits only. At first I was sure that Wesley didn’t care about Bianca, but when he rescued her from her father when he was drunk, defended her against his grandmother, I knew that he cared about her a lot. I thought that it was cute how he wouldn’t give up. Why would he do that if he didn’t care about her. I was rooting for him; I was rooting for Bianca to come to her senses, to admit it. Despite their differences, they belonged with each other.

What had captured me about book was title : THE DUFF It caught my attention and made me want to pick up a book to read about it. This was a word that I never even heard of before. An unique Idea for an amazing book. It was a realistic novel that dealt with alcoholism, escape, love, friendship. This novel didn’t have a single dull moment, every single page has you wondering what’s going to happen next and how will it all end? A beautiful, inspiring debut novel by KODY KEPLINGER, an author to look out for. I am eager to check out rest of her adventures.

If she can't play by Hollywood's rules, she may lose her best friend, her dream future, and her first shot at love.

BEHIND THE SCENES has been on my to read list for a while. Once I came to the end I wished that I had picked up book earlier, it was beautifully written, an emotional ride. I couldn’t force myself to put this book down, I found myself reading late into night so that I could finish it. A breathtaking, heartbreaking debut novel. The only reason I put it down was because of work, otherwise I would spent all day reading it. Adler did an amazing job displaying every character’s emotions through Ally’s eyes, and as a reader I could feel every single of those emotions. I cried, laughed, hoped along with Ally. Despite the book being fictional, every single character in BEHIND THE SCENES felt real to me, they were type of characters that could be real, because almost everything in this novel was realistic. I can see why it draws readers in, it something that some of them can relate to.

BEHIND THE SCENES isn’t a book just about love, it’s about friendship, fame, grief and test of friendship. This was my type of book. I have read books about fame before but never anything like this one, it seemed that reason that things got bad between Liam and Ally was due to fame. Why can’t every guy be like Liam? He had times where it had me wondering what he was thinking. Then what person didn’t. Vanessa and Ally had their moments as well. Its flaws like those that made this novel realistic, one of most realistic contemporary novels that I have read this year. Almost everything that happened in this novel, from relationships to fame, to grief I could see myself happening in real life while I read the novel. I did feel bad for Ally, just when things were looking up for her something else would go wrong. To me it felt like Ally couldn’t catch a break and honestly I don’t know how she dealt with everything as long as she did. All through novel I hoped that things will start getting better for her.

LIAM & VANESSA : Besides Ally, they were two of my favorite characters, there were almost impossible to not love. Both of them made mistakes but then which teenager doesn’t? Despite that no matter what, both of them were there for Ally, both of them helped her deal with her father’s sickness. That’s why I wasn’t too fond of how Ally ended things with Liam and fight that occurred with Vanessa, I knew that it would come eventually. Vanessa was right she did tell her that it was okay for her to pretend to date Liam. At same time she should have thought about how it might make Ally feel when she was dating her boyfriend. In the end both of them were there for her. I could tell that both of them cared for Ally deeply.

BEHIND THE SCENES was a extraordinary debut novel about friendship, fame and first love. A unforgettable book.
