The one guy Bailey Rydell can’t stand is actually the boy of her dreams—she just doesn’t know it yet.
Classic movie fan Bailey “Mink” Rydell has spent months crushing on a witty film geek she only knows online as Alex. Two coasts separate the teens until Bailey moves in with her dad, who lives in the same California surfing town as her online crush.
Faced with doubts (what if he’s a creep in real life—or worse?), Bailey doesn’t tell Alex she’s moved to his hometown. Or that she’s landed a job at the local tourist-trap museum. Or that she’s being heckled daily by the irritatingly hot museum security guard, Porter Roth—a.k.a. her new archnemesis. But life is whole lot messier than the movies, especially when Bailey discovers that tricky fine line between hate, love, and whatever it is she’s starting to feel for Porter.
And as the summer months go by, Bailey must choose whether to cling to a dreamy online fantasy in Alex or take a risk on an imperfect reality with Porter. The choice is both simpler and more complicated than she realizes, because Porter Roth is hiding a secret of his own: Porter is Alex…Approximately

I wish that I read Alex, approximately sooner that I had. I have been hearing about it for few months since it came out and once I started reading it, I saw why. I fell in love after reading few pages and if I had more time to read, I would have finished this book sooner. I had a feeling that it was going to enjoy the book when I read a synopsis of the book, once I came across it on goodreads. Alex, Approxiimately turned out to be better that I expected it to. It had a mystery surrounding it in a way and I wondered when all the secrets would come out. I knew that there was a chance that it wouldn’t end well when it did come out. There was a small part of me that was sad that the story came to end and I had to say to everyone, and glad that both Bailey and Porter got their happily after, considering what the two of them went through.
Alex,Approxiatelyis a first novel that I read byJENN BENNETT and after such incredible, addictive story, it won’t be the last one. Now, Porter and Bailey, their relationship seemed to be a hate like sort of relationship at the beginning. Honestly, I didn’t think at first that it would lead to anything, not the way that he acted with Bailey at first when the two of them started working together. As time passed, I wondered if that tough guy was an act, as to way to scare the new employees. When he told her the shark story, which is a personal story to tell to someone that you barely know, I had feeling that he cared about Bailey more than he let on. As two of them spend more time together, got closer, I saw the bond between the two of them. I was happy to discover that Porter was Alex who Bailey was talking to online, it was as it was meant to be, even if it did not start out that way. I was rooting for the two of them, especially once the two of them started to fight. I was glad that in the end, the two of them saw that they belonged with each other.
I loved that each of the chapter, at the start there were a quote from movie, and some of the movies I even recognized. It fit the story, perfectly. I could not get enough of story, of the characters and I wanted to see how it would end for them. There was one character I disliled from the start, Davy. I had a bad feeling about him from start of book and I had a feeling that he was going end up doing something that would get him in trouble. I was glad that he didn’t kill anyone. I think jail time will do him some good, or at least I hope that he would realize that he needs help. I can’t even imagine what must been going through Bailey’s mind, especially after what she went through. It could have ended up worse than it had. As I said, I think that the two of them needed a happily after, with everything that they went throught. A breathtaking story. I finished it few hours earlier and I still find myself thinking about, and wondering what happened to the rest characters after. I can’t wait to see what other adventures, the author has in store for us next.
