Lt. Raymond Novak prefers the pulpit to the cockpit, but at least his stateside job training B-17 pilots allows him the luxury of a personal life. As he courts Helen Carlisle, a young war widow and mother who conceals her pain under a frenzy of volunteer work, the sparks of their romance set a fire that flings them both into peril.

After Ray leaves to fly a combat mission at the peak of the air war over Europe, Helen takes a job in a dangerous munitions yard and confronts an even graver menace in her own home. Will they find the courage to face their challenges? And can their young love survive until blue skies return?

Is it me, or does this series keeps getting better with each book? Another outstanding addition to the Wings Of Glory series.

I seemed to have fallen in love with this series, from the moment that I picked up the first book, A DISTANT MELODY and since then, I fallen in love. If I were asked to pick a favorite one from series, I don’t think I been able to pick, each book is unique in each own way. BLUE SKIES TOMORROW wasn’t any different, though it was my favorite title out of all the books, it has a very catchy title. I do feel as if each book seems to get sadder, and once again my emotions were all over the place while I read it, especially when I found out what happened to Helen. I remember when it was mentioned that Jim had passed away, and I remember my heart breaking for Helen, for losing her husband that way. That was until I found out what Jim did to her, how he treated her. I cannot even begin imagining having go through that, for as long as Helen did. Even if I never been through it, just by reading the book, I could feel her pain, her fear. I just couldn’t believe that someone treat their own wife like that, and not even one person suspected of what was going on. Nobody questioned how many accidents Helen seemed to be having. I know she felt guilty for being glad that he was dead, but I couldn’t blame her, she was finally free. That was until she went to live with her in laws, only to discover how his father was the same way, and then everything made sense. I just wish that his wife saw that what her husband was doing wasn’t okay. I was hoping that at least Helen could find a way to get away from them. Reading how she was treated there, it broke my heart all over again. Nobody deserves that.

Ray and Helen, those two belong together. Anyone could see the connection between the two of them, and there was part of me that wished that they got together before she met Jim. I know that Ray would never treat her the way that Jim did. When everyone assumed that Ray was dead, my heart broke for Helen. I was hoping that at some point, they would find out the truth. The reunion, it brought tears to my eyes. I can only imagine the joy that his family felt, when he appeared. I was hoping that they could get their happily after and considering everything that they had go through. I cannot believe that this series is over. Only after reading 3 of her books, I am in love with SARAH SUNDIN ‘s writing, and I cannot wait to pick up her other series. If you love historical romance with some twist, then you should check her books out. Once you pick up, you will find it impossible to put her books down. I did. It has been a while since I finished this one, and yet I cannot to get the story out of my mind.

Astounding. Remarkable love story.

It is the spring of 1939 and three generations of the Kurc family are doing their best to live normal lives, even as the shadow of war grows closer. The talk around the family Seder table is of new babies and budding romance, not of the increasing hardships threatening Jews in their hometown of Radom, Poland. But soon the horrors overtaking Europe will become inescapable and the Kurcs will be flung to the far corners of the world, each desperately trying to navigate his or her own path to safety.

As one sibling is forced into exile, another attempts to flee the continent, while others struggle to escape certain death, either by working grueling hours on empty stomachs in the factories of the ghetto or by hiding as gentiles in plain sight. Driven by an unwavering will to survive and by the fear that they may never see one another again, the Kurcs must rely on hope, ingenuity, and inner strength to persevere.

Beautiful, heartbreaking, moving story.

I cannot… Once again, another book where my emotions are everywhere, and where I cannot seem to get the story out of my mind. I cannot imagine to go through what Kurc had to go through, it is heartbreaking. I had a feeling that WE WERE THE LUCKY ONES was going be a sad book when I read the summary. Nothing prepared me for what I read, how heartbreaking it was. There were few times where I had to actually put the book down because it got hard for me to continue, and I found myself thinking about it for a bit, before picking it up again. WE WERE THE LUCKY ONES Is one of those books that will break you heart multiple times, and yet you will find it impossible to put it down. You will fall in love with the story, the characters and you will find yourself wondering what will happen with the Kurc family next. However, you should be prepared for emotional roller coaster ride while reading this book. I found myself reaching for the tissue boxes multiple times. I have read books that were based on holocaust before, but it never affected me the way that WE WERE THE LUCKY ONES did. I still cannot seem to get it out of my mind.

I am not sure which character I liked more, and if I were asked to pick one, I don’t think that I would be able to pick just one. They were all unique in their own way. I did love Mila a lot and the way that she took care of her daughter, Felicia after her husband went missing. I cannot imagine what she must gone through, and then to have him re-appear after all those years of being gone, and for Mila if he was dead. I also think that her daughter Felicia was such a smart and brave girl, with everything that she had to go through and at such young age too. I cannot imagine that it something that she would ever be able to get past, but I do hope that she does in the future. Felicia was the one character that I adored, and my heart broke for her, for everything that she had to through. Genek and Herta went through a lot as well, I cannot imagine how they can ever get past such horrific experience. My heart broke for them on multiple occasions and were one of few times that I found it hard to read and reaching for the tissues. Those too have a courage to go through something like that. Yet, I couldn’t seem to get enough of everyone’s stories and I was rooting for them all to make it through it all in one piece.

WE WERE THE LUCKY ONES is a heart aching story, but a story that you won’t forget. You will be thinking about it for years to come. If you love a historical fiction, you should check this one out. It’s worth it every page. Incredible, powerful.

Having just been dumped by his girlfriend, British-born Hugo is still determined to take his last-hurrah-before-college train trip across the United States. One snag: the companion ticket is already booked under the name of his ex, Margaret Campbell. Nontransferable, no exceptions.

Enter the new Margaret C. (Mae for short), an aspiring filmmaker with big dreams. After finding Hugo's spare ticket offer online, she's convinced it's the perfect opportunity to expand her horizons.

When the two meet, the attraction is undeniable, and both find more than they bargained for. As Mae pushes Hugo to explore his dreams for his future, he'll encourage her to channel a new, vulnerable side of her art. But when life off the train threatens the bubble they've created for themselves, will they manage to keep their love on track?

Heartwarming. Beautifully written. Filled with so many emotions.

I have been reading JENNIFER E. SMITH novels for few years now, but it has been couple years since I read a book by her. After I read FIELD NOTES ON LOVE I remembered why she is one of my favorite authors. There was not a single page that did not capture my attention, it actually had me on edge of my seat with each page, each chapter. I always enjoyed books that featured traveling as well. Through the years I have read most of her books, and I loved every single one of them. I do believe that FIELD NOTES ON LOVE was a bit different than the other books that she has written. I had the feeling that it would end up a book that I would enjoy, just from reading the summary and it was. I thought that it was romantic that the two of them fell in love on train, and I am sure that when they decided to take the trip together, that it was the last thing that was on their minds. The reason they took the trip in the first place, was to escape and instead ended up falling for one another.

I loved both Mae and Hugo. When Hugo first posted the ad, I couldn’t help but wonder how it would work. Would they get along? Or would the trip end up being a disaster. I enjoyed the interviews that she did with people on the train, and there were few that had fascinating stories. Hugo and Mae became close fast and I feel as it because they had a connection between the two of them when they met. I could tell that it did not take Hugo long to realize how he felt about Mae, and I was rooting for Mae to figure that part out, that she loved him. Even her dads could tell that Hugo was in love with her when she showed them the interview. I was hoping that the two of them would find a way to reunite again, to tell each other how they felt about each other. What Hugo did, that was sweet and I couldn’t help and smile. FIELD NOTES ON LOVE is a type of book that I couldn’t stop reading, but at the same time did not want to finish, mostly because I didn’t want it to end. The story will have you going through the emotions, and you find yourself as if you going on the trip along with Hugo and Mae.

My emotions are still everywhere, I cannot stop thinking about it. I cannot stop wondering what happened after. FIELD NOTES ON LOVE is a story that will stay with me for years to come, a story I will recommend to my friends. Once I read it, I felt inspired to work on the romance novel, which I am in process of writing. I loved reading from Mae and Hugo’s point of view, a way to get know each character better and easier to relate to. JENNIFER E.SMITH did it again, wrote another astonishing story. If you love young adult romance, I would highly recommend it. While reading it, I was very tempted to make my own train trip sometime in future, I feel as it be a lot of fun.

There is so much to love about this book. Breathtaking.

Natasha: I’m a girl who believes in science and facts. Not fate. Not destiny. Or dreams that will never come true. I’m definitely not the kind of girl who meets a cute boy on a crowded New York City street and falls in love with him. Not when my family is twelve hours away from being deported to Jamaica. Falling in love with him won’t be my story.

Daniel: I’ve always been the good son, the good student, living up to my parents’ high expectations. Never the poet. Or the dreamer. But when I see her, I forget about all that. Something about Natasha makes me think that fate has something much more extraordinary in store—for both of us.

The Universe: Every moment in our lives has brought us to this single moment. A million futures lie before us. Which one will come true?

Incredibly beautiful. Remarkable.

I had a good feeling about this book, I had a feeling that I would like this book. I guess I did not realize how much I would enjoy it, and it’s one of the reasons that I read it so fast, I could not get enough of Natasha and Daniel’s story. I was rooting for their happy after. I found myself hoping that Natasha could find a way of being deported to Jamaica, and the two of them would be together. I have read a book where everything happened in one day before, but it was noting like it was in THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR and I couldn’t pull myself away, and afterwards I wanted to know what happened after. Despite that this story takes place in one day, a lot happens in that day and the way it is written, it incredibly how much happens that day. All the descriptions and everything that they do that day, to me it feels real, and I feel as I am experiencing everything that they are. After reading THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR makes me wants to got to New York and just explore.

Daniel and Natasha had a bond from moment that the two of them met, at least that is a feeling I got. I know that the only reason that Natasha tried to deny how she felt about him, was because she was leaving. I do think that she would told him sooner then she had that she was getting deported. At same time I do wonder if she told him sooner, if they would had all those adventures, or if they would gone their separate ways. I did hope that maybe the lawyer would be able to help her out, and at first it seemed as it was going to work out. In the end to get her hopes crushed again. I loved the scenes between Natasha and Daniel, you can tell by the way that the two of them were around each, that what they had was special. Even once I reached the ending of the book, I could not help but wonder what happened to them afterwards. THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR is type of book that will have you going through the emotions from start to the end. That was how I felt and why it was impossible to put the book down, until I reached the end.

THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR Is a second book I read by NICOLA YOON . Couple years ago I read EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING and fell in love with the story, and it wasn’t any different for this one. THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR is a book I would highly recommend to anyone who loves young adult and romance. A story that will keep you on edge of your seat, a book that you will fall in love with, and that will stay with you.

Memphis, 1939. Twelve-year-old Rill Foss and her four younger siblings live a magical life aboard their family’s Mississippi River shantyboat. But when their father must rush their mother to the hospital one stormy night, Rill is left in charge—until strangers arrive in force. Wrenched from all that is familiar and thrown into a Tennessee Children’s Home Society orphanage, the Foss children are assured that they will soon be returned to their parents—but they quickly realize the dark truth. At the mercy of the facility’s cruel director, Rill fights to keep her sisters and brother together in a world of danger and uncertainty.

Aiken, South Carolina, present day. Born into wealth and privilege, Avery Stafford seems to have it all: a successful career as a federal prosecutor, a handsome fiancé, and a lavish wedding on the horizon. But when Avery returns home to help her father weather a health crisis, a chance encounter leaves her with uncomfortable questions and compels her to take a journey through her family’s long-hidden history, on a path that will ultimately lead either to devastation or to redemption.

Heart wrenching, powerful, captivating story.

Wow. How is it even possible to even try to explain how I feel about this book? I think I have no words that can explain my feelings at this moment. I have read quite few historical fiction lately, but nothing like this one. I had a feeling that it was going to be sad when I read the description, but nothing prepared me for how heartbreaking it would be. I have been hearing about BEFORE WE WERE YOURS for quite some time and saw a lot of good reviews, and finally decided to check it out. It wasn’t only that captured my attention but the fact that it was based on true story, I always enjoyed books that was based on actual events in the history. I cannot even begin to imagine going through what Rill and her siblings had go through and all of those children. My heart broke for them, and I wondered how nobody questioned the methods of Tennessee Children Home Society Orphanage. Plus the way those children were treated, that was abuse. I was praying for those children and hoped that somehow someone would discover what was going on, and put end to it. I hoped that at least Rill and her siblings would find a way to escape, find their parents. I could be wrong, but I feel as Rill was one of the people there that knew, that there wasn’t something right about the orphanage director, and the orphanage itself. I knew there was something not right from moment that they were taken from their home. You can’t help but cry at what these children had go through and imagine their families that they were taken from.

BEFORE WE WERE YOURS was so well written, and once I finished reading the book, I went to research more about the Tennessee Children’s Home because I was curious, after reading the book. I do feel as if I learned a lot, just from reading the book. I can tell that it was a well-researched book. BEFORE WE WERE YOURS was the first book that I read by LISA WINGATE and now that I have read it, I am curious about her others and cannot wait to check them out. I loved the writing style of this book, how it went back and forth between present and past. The fact that it was told from view of 12 year old and what she and her sibling had to go through, it made it so much more heartbreaking to read. BEFORE WE WERE YOURS is a book where you will cry, multiple times. I went through a lot of emotions where I was reading the book, grief, anger, confusion, fear and hope. I felt as if I was there along with all the other characters. I never imagined for Avery to find out what she did, but I am glad that she did. I had a feeling that there was some sort of connection between Avery’s grandmother and May, but never did I imagine of what it might be. I am glad that Avery did not give up and kept on looking until she discovered what was going on. I feel as if that added even more mystery to the book. Despite how heartbreaking it was, and sometimes very hard to read, it was also a book that you will not put down until you reach the end, wanting to know how it all ends. There were couple times where I read late into night, because anytime I tried putting down, something interesting would happen that get it impossible to put it down.

If you love historical fiction, I would highly recommend BEFORE WE WERE YOURS , one of the best historical fiction books.

Mari Turner’s life is perfect. That is, at least to her thousands of followers who have helped her become an internet starlet. But when she breaks down and posts a video confessing she’s been living a lie—that she isn’t the happy, in-love, inspirational online personality she’s been trying so hard to portray—it goes viral and she receives major backlash. To get away from it all, she makes an impulsive decision: to hike the entire John Muir trail. Mari and her late cousin, Bri, were supposed to do it together, to celebrate their shared eighteenth birthday. But that was before Mari got so wrapped up in her online world that she shut anyone out who questioned its worth—like Bri.

With Bri’s boots and trail diary, a heart full of regret, and a group of strangers that she meets along the way, Mari tries to navigate the difficult terrain of the hike. But the true challenge lies within, as she searches for the way back to the girl she fears may be too lost to find: herself.

Extraordinary. Thrilling. Heartfelt.

This is the story that you won’t forget, and the one that you will find yourself shedding tears over. I knew about this book for a while, and now that I have read it, I wished that I had picked it up sooner. I have been JESSI KIRBY fan ever since I read her debut novel back in 2012. Over the years, I became a bigger fan and every book that I read, I fall more in love with her writing, her stories. I have read most of her books and loved them all, besides THINGS WE KNOW BY HEART , this one is my favorite one. I couldn’t seem to get enough of this story, and I was so fascinated by Mari’s journey and I was rooting for her to make it all the way to the end. I love hiking, maybe not the way Bri did, but I do enjoy the nature a lot, and enjoy hiking when I do go. When Mari received Bri’s hiking gear as a birthday present from her aunt, I wondered if she go through it, and most of all I wondered if she would go through it all or just the parts of it. I thought that it was brave of Mari to go through it all, despite fact that she did not even train for this trip, and fact that her and Bri drifted apart before Bri’s death. I do wonder if there is part that made Mari feel guilty and if that is another reason that she went. Despite the reason, she made it, she went.

I do believe that maybe this hike, is what Mari needed, to grieve and to escape. Especially after that social media video that went viral. Sometimes escape is just what you need. I know that the reason that she went right away, was because if she didn’t, Mari find a reason to talk herself out of it. I loved everything about THE OTHER SIDE OF LOST and the emotions in this book, I felt as I was going through them while I was reading it. I feel as if that hike, had her grieving for her cousin, Bri, missing her. I loved the little notes that her cousin made in her notebook and how she seemed to depend on it. I loved reading them though, in the way they were inspiring. I know for fact that Bri is a type of person that I would loved being friends with, and she seemed as she was positive. I feel as if Bri was smiling down on Mari when she went on that hike. I am glad that she met Beau, Colin, Jack, Vanessa and Josh when she did, because it made the hike a lot more fun when you share it with friends. I do believe that going on such long hike, it more fun and safer when you go as a group. I feel as if she did it by herself, she might not made it as far as she did, or would lost the inspiration. In a way, they helped her reach her goal. I feel as they are going to be friends for years to come.

That ending, it had me smiling and made me so proud of all of them. It did still make me wonder what happened after. For instance how would Mari’s mother and aunt react, considering how she decided to leave for the hike. What would happen with Mari and Josh, and would they ever see each other again? It still had me thinking, even once I reached the ending. THE OTHER SIDE OF LOST was a beautifully written book, a story that you will find yourself thinking about, long after you reach the last page. I cannot wait to see what adventures JESSI KIRBY will come up with next.

Talking to other people isn't Kate Bailey's favorite activity. She'd much rather be out on the lake, soaking up the solitude and sunshine. So when her best friend, Alana, convinces Kate to join their high school's podcast, Kate is not expecting to be chosen as the host. Now she'll have to answer calls and give advice on the air? Impossible.

But to Kate's surprise, she turns out to be pretty good at the hosting gig. Then the podcast gets in a call from an anonymous guy, asking for advice about his unnamed crush. Kate is pretty sure that the caller is gorgeous Diego Martinez, and even surer that the girl in question is Alana. Kate is excited for her friend ... until Kate herself starts to develop feelings for Diego. Suddenly, Kate finds that while doling out wisdom to others may be easy, asking for help is tougher than it looks, and following your own advice is even harder.

Beautifully written love story.

Once again, I fell in love with KASIE WEST story, and how could I not? Every time that I read her books, I get more hooked then I was before. Her writing, is astonishing and inspiring. I fell as if her books are impossible to not love, they will take your breath away. I read most of her books and loved them, and if I were asked for favorite, I wouldn’t be able to pick. Every of her books will make you fall in love with the story, the characters. LISTEN TO YOUR HEART wasn’t any different, and it had me hooked on KASIE WEST writing more than I already was. The emotions in this book, I could feel them all, as I was there in the story along with all the character, especially Kate. I love books that features podcast or radio shows, I have read few through the years and so far LISTEN TO YOUR HEART has been my favorite. Victoria and Kate made a great team, and I feel that after time Kate got more comfortable with giving advice, and I feel as if Victoria helped her in a way. It was interesting to see what sort of questions they would get, and they would be able to help that certain person.

I had a feeling that Diego had more than friendly feelings towards Kate, but sometimes got mixed feelings about it. However, it did seem that anytime that Kate came to the tutoring center, he was always happy to see her, and seemed to enjoyed talking to her. That did not mean that he liked her. Especially when Alana asked him to dance and he said yes, I was bit taken aback by that. Did he like her or Alana, or was it both? It did not take long to figure out how Kate felt about Diego, even though she tried to deny it because she knew how her best friend felt about him. Now that is a true friend right there, who would put her feelings aside just because her best friend liked the same guy. I loved how supportive Alana was when she found out, but it probably because she saw how much he liked him. The friendship that Alana and Kate have, is the one that will last for years to come. I was hoping that Kate will finally stop denying her feelings for Diego and finally be together with him. I hoped that she would come to her senses soon.

I could not get enough of this story. It made me go through a lot of emotions. A story that I will be re-reading in the future. If you love young adult, romance then LISTEN TO YOUR HEART is a book you should start reading today. It is worth it every single page.

Major Jack Novak has never failed to meet a challenge--until he meets army nurse Lieutenant Ruth Doherty. When Jack lands in the army hospital after a plane crash, he makes winning Ruth's heart a top priority mission. But he has his work cut out for him.

Not only is Ruth focused on her work to support her orphaned siblings back home, she carries a shameful secret that keeps her from giving her heart to any man. Can Jack break down her defenses? Or are they destined to go their separate ways?

This story… I am not sure how to begin to describe this book, and the emotions that went through me while reading it. I did not expect it for be as heartbreaking as it was. I cannot even begin to imagine going through what Ruth did. A MEMORY BETWEEN US is a type of story that you will never forget, you will find yourself thinking about it long after you finish it. I still am. A MEMORY BETWEEN US was harder to read then first one, a lot more emotions and so much more heartbreaking. You cannot help but wonder what will happen afterwards. I loved every minute of it, even if it did get a bit depressing a times. A MEMORY BETWEEN US is not type of book that won’t make you cry, be ready to shed some tears, I did on more than one occasion. You will feel all the emotions that the characters felt while reading this book.

It was clear from moment that Jack met Ruth, how he felt about her. I have feeling that Ruth did, but did not want to let him in, was afraid to. I had a feeling that she was hiding something, not telling Jack everything, by the way she acted at time. I had a feeling that someone might hurt her in past, like abuse. Once the truth came out, my heart broke for her, I cannot imagine to have go through what Ruth had to. How can you go past something horrible that she had go through? It makes sense why she was so jumpy, did not want kiss and kept pushing Jack away. It wasn’t because she did not like him, but because she could not get past what happened to her, and not like I could blame her. I did wonder though if she would ever let him in. I could tell how much he cared for her, and how he would do anything for her. I was hoping that Ruth would see that. She deserved someone like Jack, who would always be there and always protect her. I was hoping that the two of them would get their happily after.

I could tell how much research was put into this book, by the amount of information that was put into this book. I felt as if I learned so much more, just by reading this book. MEMORY BETWEEN US felt so real to me, and the descriptions had me picturing everything that was happening in the story. I do wonder what happens after, and I hope that the two of them will get their happily after. I already know that SARAH SUNDIN is going to be an author that I am going to read for years to come. I cannot wait to check out rest of her books. If you enjoy historical fiction with romance, Wings Of Glory series is one that you should pick up. The books are worth so much more than five stars.
