Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: if he doesn’t play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone’s business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the boy he’s been emailing, will be compromised.

With some messy dynamics emerging in his once tight-knit group of friends, and his email correspondence with Blue growing more flirtatious every day, Simon’s junior year has suddenly gotten all kinds of complicated. Now, change-averse Simon has to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before he’s pushed out—without alienating his friends, compromising himself, or fumbling a shot at happiness with the most confusing, adorable guy he’s never met.

Why haven’t I read this book sooner? It was so adorable, and I couldn’t help but fall in love with story and the characters, especially Simon and Blue. The two of them were so adorable whenever they were talking to each other. I also happen to think that Blue is a cool name, even if it was a fake one. I heard about SIMON VS THE HOMO SAPIENS AGENDA for a while, and even more after the move Love, Simon came out. There were a lot of good reviews about this book and I couldn’t help but be curious about the book and finally got a copy from library. Now that I read it, I wished that I picked up sooner, there wasn’t a single thing that I didn’t enjoy about this novel. One of reasons that I read it in such short time, I couldn’t put it down, I didn’t want to. I can tell that SIMON VS THE HOMO SAPIENS AGENDA is going be one of those novels that I won’t forget, and I am sure I will end up re-reading it in the future.

Simon & Blue: I loved the two of them. I could just by their emails that they exchanged how much they cared for one another. Like Simon, I did wonder who Blue was and why he didn’t want meet, or at least exchange phone numbers. I feel like Simon told Blue more things that he told his friends, but I understand why he did. The two of them connected in a way, and they could talk about it without being judged. I have read few LGTB books throught the years and I think that SIMON VS THE HOMO SAPIENS AGENDA is my favorite. Maybe it’s the way that it was written, the storyline in general. I couldn’t get enough of it, I couldn’t get enough of Blue and Simon, and there was a part of me that didn’t want for book the end, I didn’t want to say goodbye. All this time that I read the emails that Blue and Simon exchanged I never imagined that Bram could been Blue. I should guessed it, by way that Bram would look at Simon at times, watching him. I guess like Simon I didn’t put it together. I was glad that Simon finally found someone that made him happy and that he could be himself around. It was clear how in love with each other they were. I was glad he got his happy ending.

I try to not dislike characters, but there was one I had mixed feeling about, Martin. I didn’t like how he tried to blackmail Simon, just because he liked Abby. I had mixed feelings about him because once I got to know him, he seemed like a decent guy, funny. I think that even Simon started to like him. Until he posted that post, just because he was angry and jealous. That doesn’t make it okay. Despite that, he seemed to realize his mistake. I wasn’t sure he did until that email. It made me wonder if Simon would ever forgive him. I think they were on way on becoming friends until he messed it up. Now that I read the book, I am eager to see the movie, I am curious if movie is as good as the book. I think that this book deserves more than five stars. A story that is worth checking out.

A beautiful, inspiring story.
