Growing up, Cassie Carter and her sisters, Karen and Nichole, were incredibly close -- until one fateful event drove them apart. After high school, Cassie ran away from home to marry the wrong man, throwing away a college scholarship and breaking her parents’ hearts. To make matters worse, Cassie had always been their father’s favorite -- a sentiment that weighed heavily on her sisters and made Cassie’s actions even harder to bear.

Now thirty-one, Cassie is back in Washington, living in Seattle with her daughter and hoping to leave her past behind. After ending a difficult marriage, Cassie is back on her own two feet, the pieces of her life slowly but surely coming together. Despite the strides Cassie’s made, she hasn’t been able to make peace with her sisters. Karen, the oldest, is a busy wife and mother, balancing her career with raising her two children. And Nichole, the youngest, is a stay-at-home mom whose husband indulges her every whim. Then one day, Cassie receives a letter from Karen, offering what Cassie thinks may be a chance to reconcile. And as Cassie opens herself up to new possibilities -- making amends with her sisters, finding love once more -- she realizes the power of compassion, and the promise of a fresh start

I think that I am in love. LAST ONE HOME Is a second novel that I read by DEBBIE MACOMBER an author that one of my close friends at work told me about. I am glad that she did, it’s only 2nd book that I read by DEBBIE MACOMBER and can’t seem get enough already. LAST ONE HOME was a heartfelt novel about love, friendship and family. While reading this book, you will go through emotions and that was actually was one of reasons that I couldn’t put book down. Every page, every chapter was filled with more drama and you couldn’t help but wonder what would happen next. Before you realize it, you’re up half of night reading it. I had force myself put the book down at night, due to work and same for lunch break. LAST ONE HOME not only did it have an eye catching title and cover, it was beautifully written and I got sucked into story fast, I felt like I was part of the story. How can you not love a story like that? I believe that those is one of best stories.

I liked Cassie, despite how she left her sisters, her family behind. However that was mostly her husband’s doing and fact that she was pregnant at time. I knew that her sisters were angry with her, especially Karen. I wondered if they would be able to put it behind them, and reconnect again. I hoped that they would, Cassie needed them. I can’t even begin to imagine how it was to go through what Cassie went through with her husband. I do wish that she left him sooner then she did. I was glad that she finally had the courage to leave him. I believe that if Cassie didn’t have courage to leave him when she did, he would killed her. I loved how much she loved her daughter Aimee and the bond that the two of them shared. Their relationship, it reminded me a lot of connection that I have with my mom.

Steve, He was one of characters that I wasn’t sure how to feel about. I never imagined that he and Cassie would end up falling in love, most of all because how he treated her at start. As time moved, I saw how much he cared about her, he was there for her every step of the way. He even drove her to her sisters to collect her parents furniture that was left behind for me. He was there when she needed him most, and if it weren’t for him she might not made it all over there. Then she might not reconnected with her sisters. I do wish that she didn’t push him away how she did, at same time I understood why she did, she was afraid. I was rooting for both of them and I think Aimee wanted the two of them together as much as Cassie wanted to be with Steve. Her daughter, Aimee needed someone like Steve in her life, I loved how he treated her as if she was his own.

What a beautiful story. I can’t wait to read other Debbie stories, I already know she will be author a love. An writer that deserves every star.
