Jenny meets Chance for the very first time when she is assigned as his partner in their Junior Oral Communications class. But after they rescue a doomed assignment with one clever lie, the whole school is suddenly convinced that Little-Miss-Really-Likes-Having-A’s and the most scandalous heartbreaker in school have been best friends forever. It’s amazing how quickly a lie can grow―especially when you really, really want it to be the truth.

With Jenny, Chance can live the normal life he’s always kind of wanted. And with Chance, Jenny can have the exciting teen experiences that TV shows and movies have always promised. Through it all, they hold on to the fact that they are “just friends.” But that might be the biggest lie of all.

This book left me speechless, a lot of emotions went through me while reading JUST FRIENDS . I did not want it to end, I did not want to say goodbye to Chance and Jenny. I also wanted to know what would happen with them after that last page. You can’t help but get attached to characters in this book, especially Jenny and Chance. I had a feeling that this book would be hard to put down, from a moment that I picked it up and I was right. Good thing that I had the whole weekend to read it, otherwise I would stayed up all night reading it. JUST FRIENDS was beautifully written and had such vivid images that I could see everything in my mind while I was reading. Not just that, but I could feel all the emotions that Chance and Jenny went through in this book, like I was there along with them.

Jenny & Chance Come on, how can you not like them? You could see that there was chemistry between two of them, the moment that the two of them met in class. I found it cute and funny at same time how they came up with that fake story and how everyone bought it. It was that story, that lie that brought them close together. I had a feeling that Chance did not think of her just a friend from moment that the two of them met, considering how he wanted to keep hanging out with her after that. I loved how the two of them messed around, kept coming up with those fake stories, as if they did know each other forever like they claimed that they did. I was waiting for them to get together, I wanted them to get together. I was sure that after that kiss they would but then everything got messed up and she started dating Drake who I wasn’t too fond of from start. I loved how despite his feelings for her, he was always there for her and Jenny too. I think that Chance needed that, a friend like Jenny. I can’t believe his parents just left him, what parents do that to their own child? I wanted to hug him when that happened, my heart broke for him. I am glad he had Jenny there to help him out.

TIFFANY PITCOCK had me hooked from page one. I love the cover and the title, it fits story for Chance and Jenny perfectly. I have a feeling that this author is going to go places. I am already looking forward to her next novel. I think that writing from both Chance and Jenny’s point of view, was a great idea because that way we got to know each character better. I believe this is a good way that the reader can connect to the characters. Not long after picking up book where Jenny and Chance became my favorite characters.

A beautiful, heartbreaking, astounding debut novel that is worth every page, JUST FRIENDS is a novel about first love, friendship and heartache. You won’t want to say goodbye. A story that you won’t forget.
