Gorgeous Nantucket is an island where memories are made, friendships begun, passions ignited. Now, during one unforgettable summer, the exclusive Nantucket Beach Club and Hotel will shape the fates of the men and women who walk through its doors...

Mack Petersen escaped the past and started over in a hotel that has become his life. This summer his secrets can't stay hidden. Love O'Donnell, a glamorous Aspen native, takes a job at the Beach Club to implement her life plan--to find a man to get her pregnant. Vance Robbins has his African-American pride and festering resentments. This season, a gun and a woman offer him a chance to get even with the man he hates most.

Cecily Elliott, the owner's daughter, wild and beautiful at eighteen, is about to do something to break her parents' hearts. And Lacey Gardner, the Grande Dame of the Beach Club for 45 years, knows about desperate desire--and about the storm coming that will change everything.

THE BEACH CLUB was the 4th ELIN HILDERBRAND novel that I have read and for the first time since I started reading her books back in 2012, to find myself disappointed by the end of the book. I didn’t think that it was a bad book, but it wasn’t what I expected to be, based on my experience of her other novels that I had read. I know that it was her first book and I could tell that it was different, even her style was different, by wat that THE BEACH CLUB was written. I felt like there were too many characters in this book, and there were times I felt confused while reading the book, mostly because there were so many stories that I had to follow. There were also parts in the book that I had a feeling were dragging and it was a bit hard to follow. When I picked this book up, I had a bit higher expectations for it.

There were few parts of the books that I did enjoy. I had enjoyed reading about Mack’s story, about how it all started even if he wasn’t my favorite character in book. I tried to like him, and there were times that I did, especially towards end of the book. I did not like how he treated his girlfriend, Maribel, she did not deserve that. To be honest, I don’t know why she stayed with him as long as she had, she had deserved much better than Mack. Out of all the characters in the book, Cecily and Lacey were my favorites. I had enjoyed reading their stories. There was part of me that wondered if there was a chance that maybe Cecily and Mack might end up together, like their parents, especially her mother seemed to want. However it felt like Mack was the last person on her mind. Yet, the ending had me wondering once again.

Storm was the most interesting that had happened in the book, adding a bit of thrill to the story. The letters in beginning of each chapter added a bit mystery to it, and had me wondering who was possibly writing the letters, and he seemed to know almost everything. Was he a friend? Someone who worked at the beach club? Someone who was part of beach club? The most important question was of course why he wanted he him to sell it that much? There was part of me that wonder if he go for it, sell it. In the end I was relieved that he didn’t. THE BEACH CLUB was an enjoyable book, but I just did no enjoy like I did with her other novels, but it’s worth giving a try.
