The summer before Ivy’s senior year is going to be golden; all bonfires, barbeques, and spending time with her best friends. For once, she will just get to be. No summer classes, none of Granddad’s intense expectations to live up to the family name. For generations, the Milbourn women have lead extraordinary lives—and died young and tragically. Granddad calls it a legacy, but Ivy considers it a curse. Why else would her mother have run off and abandoned her as a child?

But when her mother unexpectedly returns home with two young daughters in tow, all of the stories Ivy wove to protect her heart start to unravel. The very people she once trusted now speak in lies. And all of Ivy’s ambition and determination cannot defend her against the secrets of the Milbourn past….

What a heartbreaking, beautiful and inspiring story.

I was in love from the first story and felt sad when I reached the end, because I had to say goodbye at the end. I have been wanting to pick up WILD SWANS from moment that I heard JESSICA SPOSTWOOD wrote new book, who I been fan of since I read CAHILL WITCH CHRONICLES back in 2014. I even met her in 2015 at sighting, and she is one of sweetest people. Of course when I found there was going be a new book I was excited and couldn’t wait to read it. Now that I have read it, I wished that I have read it before I had. WILD SWANS was heartbreaking and I found my heart breaking for Ivy, especially when it came to her mother, and later Alex. Yet, I couldn’t put it down because of emotions that were going through me, I felt like I became part of Ivy’s life and to me, she was real. I wanted to see how it would all end for her. Of course I was rooting for some sort of happy ending for her, especially with everything that she went through.

Alex, Connor . I loved Alex, at least in the beginning of the book I did. He seemed to know Ivy like nobody else did and was there when nobody else was. I was glad that Ivy had someone like that and I knew she would need it more once her mother arrived. That till he started acting like a jealous ex boyfriend, even thought Ivy made it clear that she wasn’t interested in him like that. I hated how he treated her afterwards, as if she didn’t matter. I understand that he was hurt because of rejection but that didn’t give him right to treat her like that. I felt bad for Ivy, he was her best friend and bailed on her when she needed him the most. What sort of friend does that? I couldn’t find it in me to like him after that, considering that I adored Ivy. Connor was good for Ivy, I could see that there was some sort of spark between two of them, even before the two of them kissed. I loved that Connor loved her for who she was and didn’t push her into anything, kind of like he grandfather seemed to. I am kind of curious what happened between the two of them after that ending. Of course I had hoped for the best, because she deserved her happy ending.

I never hated any Character’s parent as much as I hated Ivy’s mother. It hard to not dislike her. She was disrespectful towards her father, Ivy and her daughters. Not once did she say thank you to her father for letting her come and stay. She embrassed Ivy in front of others by yelling at her in public place. In the end , history seemed to repeat itself when she left her other two daughters behind. What type of parent does that? I was waiting to see for he to change but that never happened. WILD SWANS was filled with a lot emotions, there were so many that went through me while I was reading the novel. I couldn’t get enough of it. Every page had me craving for more till I reached end of the book. Once I did, I found myself wondering what happened to the characters afterwards, especially her mother, if she got her act together. A novel that I see myself re-reading in future. A story that will stay with me with years to come.

Astonishing story about family, forgiveness, hope and love. A story that will have you on edge of seat, and stay with you.
