Wilhelmina has a hundred identities.

She is a princess. When the Indigo Kingdom conquered her homeland, Wilhelmina and other orphaned children of nobility were taken to Skyvale, the Indigo Kingdom’s capital. Ten years later, they are the Ospreys, experts at stealth and theft. With them, Wilhelmina means to take back her throne.

She is a spy. Wil and her best friend, Melanie, infiltrate Skyvale Palace to study their foes. They assume the identities of nobles from a wraith-fallen kingdom, but enemies fill the palace, and Melanie’s behavior grows suspicious. With Osprey missions becoming increasingly dangerous and their leader more unstable, Wil can’t trust anyone.

She is a threat. Wraith is the toxic by-product of magic, and for a century using magic has been forbidden. Still the wraith pours across the continent, reshaping the land and animals into fresh horrors. Soon it will reach the Indigo Kingdom. Wilhelmina’s magic might be the key to stopping the wraith, but if the vigilante Black Knife discovers Wil’s magic, she will vanish like all the others

Breath taking, astonishing new series by JODI MEADOWS . I am in love with this series and after an ending like that, I want, no need the next book to be out already because how can you not want see what happens next? I even entered the giveaway on goodreads because I am not sure if I can wait till April. I have read Meadows other series Newsoul and I had loved every single book, so when I found that she wrote a new series, of course I had check it out, how could I not? Once I started it, I wished that I haven’t taken this long to check out, I almost don’t know how to explain how much I loved it, THE ORPHAN QUEEN deserves more than five stars, more like ten. What a great start to the New Year. What I loved about it, that it was unlike any book that I have read and I loved reading about the Wil’s magical world and I can’t wait to see what adventures she might come across next.

BLACK KNIFE / WIL : The most unexpected pair and unlike any couple that I have read before, mostly because it’s not the pair that you will see coming. Even though I saw that the two of them had connection, even I didn’t see the kiss coming. I do feel that there were some sort of connection between two of them from the start, and that was one of the reasons that he didn’t turn her in. But what surprised me more than what happened between two of them, was Black Knife’s true identity, the prince. When Wil discovered it, she was as shocked as I was. I found myself reading the theme couple times just to make sure that I read it right. That’s two completely different people and now Wil is more conflicted then she was before, especially because prince been the one person she tried her hardest to dislike, but now that she knows who he is, she not sure what to think of him. Which has my curiosity of wondering what is in store for them next.

Now the cover, isn’t it stunning? If the summary won’t capture your attention, the cover would. It’s the sort of photograph that would capture anyone’s attention or at least that’s feeling that I got when I came across it. It’s dramatic and you can tell by looking that something happened or about to happen. THE ORPHAN QUEEN is not type of cover that would be easy to ignore, you will stop and the curiosity will get the best of you. Beautiful, appealing just like the story was. Another part of book I loved was action in it, action mixed with magic, how can you not want read a book like that? Now if I only knew what was going to happen next. A must read book. A novel that will have you craving for more.
