In this breathtaking debut that reads like Gossip Girl crossed with Twin Peaks, a Queen Bee at a blue-blooded New England prep school stumbles into a murder mystery.

Anne Dowling practically runs her exclusive academy on New York’s Upper East Side—that is, until she accidentally burns part of it down and gets sent to a prestigious boarding school outside of Boston. Determined to make it back to New York, Anne couldn't care less about making friends at the preppy Wheatley School. That is, until her roommate Isabella’s body is found in the woods behind the school.

When everyone else is oddly silent, Anne becomes determined to uncover the truth no matter how many rules she has to break to do it. With the help of Isabella’s twin brother Anthony, and a cute classmate named Brent, Anne discovers that Isabella wasn’t quite the innocent nerdy girl she pretended to be. But someone will do anything to stop Anne’s snooping in this fast-paced, unputdownable read—even if it means framing her for Isabella’s murder.

A story that takes places in boarding school? The one that supposed be one of best when a murder occurs. From the moment that I read the summary I knew that I was going love it, it’s my type of story. Mystery. Romance. Adventure. In a way it reminded me a little bit of Gossip Girl series expect with more action and more twists. I got Prep School Confidential a while back on my Nook but didn’t have chance to read and now I wish that I read it sooner. There were a lot going on from the first page to the last and even then you wondered what was going happen, considering the staff of school are keeping secrets. You can’t help but wonder what else they are hiding. I was and I wanted to pick up next book in series right away to see what adventures they will face next, what secrets they would recover. You can’t help but be curious.

Anne, now that is one kick ass character and you can’t help but love her. Anne is unlike any other main character out there, at least not when it comes to stories like these. She doesn’t take crap from anybody and once she sets her mind on something, she won’t let it go till she reaches the conclusion. In this case it was solving Isabella’s murder. Even after she got the threating notes to stop digging, Anne wouldn’t stop till she found out who the killer was. Every page, every chapter had me in ancipation to keep me wondering of what is going to happen next. There wasn’t a single page in the book that didn’t have curious about what is going to happen next. I felt like I was attempting to solve the murder along with Anna, and I was curious why Isabella was killed, she was one character that I loved from start. Why would anyone have a reason to kill her? Outcome was unexpected; the last person I thought could be cable of something like that. I was blown away.

Prep School Confidential had everything that I love about book, mystery, thriller, romance and a lot of twists that you don’t see coming. I love fact that you find yourself guessing who the killer all through the book is. One thing I couldn’t decide on is which guy I prefer Anne with, Anthony or Brett, I loved them both and I believe that both of them had chemistry with her, each in a different way. I didn’t like how things ended between her and Anthony so maybe it wasn’t meant to be or maybe he just didn’t want to admit how much he cared about her. I couldn’t believe that this was Taylor’s debut novel. I am excited to see what adventures and what troubles Anna will get into next.
