Long ago, dragons were hunted to near extinction by the Order of St. George, a legendary society of dragon slayers. Hiding in human form and growing their numbers in secret, the dragons of Talon have become strong and cunning, and they're positioned to take over the world with humans none the wiser.

Ember and Dante Hill are the only sister and brother known to dragonkind. Trained to infiltrate society, Ember wants to live the teen experience and enjoy a summer of freedom before taking her destined place in Talon. But destiny is a matter of perspective, and a rogue dragon will soon challenge everything Ember has been taught. As Ember struggles to accept her future, she and her brother are hunted by the Order of St. George.

Soldier Garret Xavier Sebastian has a mission to seek and destroy all dragons, and Talon's newest recruits in particular. But he cannot kill unless he is certain he has found his prey: and nothing is certain about Ember Hill. Faced with Ember's bravery, confidence and all-too-human desires, Garret begins to question everything that the Order has ingrained in him: and what he might be willing to give up to find the truth about dragons.

A start of yet another amazing series, by Julie Kagawa . I read mixed reviews about Talon . Those didn’t stop me from giving series a try, considering that I loved Kagawa’s Iron Fey & Blood Of Eden series, I wasn’t disappointed, if anything I was taken aback. Every time that I read series by Julie Kagawa, I fall in love more with her characters, stories. How can anyone not? She always has a way to put a unique twist to her stories. Talon wasn’t any different. I didn’t read many books about Dragons, but after reading Talon I think that I might start to. I had a feeling that Talon was going to be a great book, but it wasn’t anything what I had expected it to be. It was Epic, from start to the finish. Dragons that can shift to humans and back to dragons? Now how can you not be fascinated with a story like this? There wasn’t a moment in the novel that didn’t have me on edge of my seat, there was always something going on, always some action happening. Talon is my type of novel, A series I fell in love after just few pages.

Ember Is totally a kick ass main character. She might be stubborn but she’s also tough. She keeps on fighting, even at the end when she found herself betrayed by Dante, a Rogue once she finds out truth about Talon. That does take a lot, to leave, considering now that she knows truth about what happens to Rogue Dragons. I can’t imagine being on run from Talon assassins, while being hunted by Order Of St. George. I do believe that only reason that she started to question Talon was because of Riley, if she never came across him, she might not be aware of what’s going on. Of what Talon really is. The ending definitely leaves a reader on edge of their seat and with questions. What will happen next? Where will she be found? Would she be discovered? those were the questions that I found myself wondering about as I reach the end. Most of all, What awaits Garret?

Love Triangles, how can you not love those? These were different that the love triangles that I usually come across while reading books. I feel like there was more connection between Ember and Garret than Ember and Riley. Did anyone else get that feeling? Garret even said it himself when he was around her, he even forgot his mission, to find out if Ember is the sleeper. He pretty much put his life in danger, for not letting Tristan kill her when she shifted in her dragon form. I always found smiling whenever they were together, before things went downhill. Ember and Garret had a special bond and I believe that it was hardest for her to let him go. I do believe there was connection between Riley and Ember as well, however it didn’t feel as strong to me. I felt like Riley liked her more than she did. I am eager to find out what happens next, what awaits next for Ember, Riley, Garret and even Dante. What challenges they have overcome next.

An exciting new fantasy series, by extraordinary story teller.
