The year is 2009. Nineteen-year-old Jackson Meyer is a normal guy… he’s in college, has a girlfriend… and he can travel back through time. But it’s not like the movies – nothing changes in the present after his jumps, there’s no space-time continuum issues or broken flux capacitors – it’s just harmless fun.

That is… until the day strangers burst in on Jackson and his girlfriend, Holly, and during a struggle with Jackson, Holly is fatally shot. In his panic, Jackson jumps back two years to 2007, but this is not like his previous time jumps. Now he’s stuck in 2007 and can’t get back to the future.

Desperate to somehow return to 2009 to save Holly but unable to return to his rightful year, Jackson settles into 2007 and learns what he can about his abilities.

But it’s not long before the people who shot Holly in 2009 come looking for Jackson in the past, and these “Enemies of Time” will stop at nothing to recruit this powerful young time-traveler. Recruit… or kill him.

Piecing together the clues about his father, the Enemies of Time, and himself, Jackson must decide how far he’s willing to go to save Holly… and possibly the entire world.

Have you ever read a book that was okay first time around, but once you read it second time, it seemed better? Tempest was that book for me. I originally read the book in 2012 because everyone seemed to be talking about it. However I was not that impressed with it, I enjoyed but not way that others seemed to. I had decided re-read since it did capture enough of my attention, to be curious about rest of series. To my surprise I found myself enjoying the book more than I did when I read it in 2012. It captured my attention to the point where I couldn’t, nor did I want to put it down even if I knew what happens. Maybe it was because I read more time traveling book since day but it captured my attention, made me glad I gave it another chance. There was so much that was happening in the story that you can’t helped but get sucked into the story.

I adored relationship between Holly & Jackson. No matter where they were, what they were doing, their love for one another was always there. I believe that because the two of them had a special connection, bond. What Holly & Jackson had was true love. I know because of their connection, even if Holly wasn’t aware of it first is why 007 Holly fell for the future Jackson, the two of them would always fall for one another, no matter where they were. Future, past, present. Holly didn’t go running once she found truth about him, instead she stood by his side the whole time. If that’s not true love, than what is? I was a sad ending for me, where he decided to jump before he met Holly, to keep from them meeting, in order to keep her safe. I couldn’t help but wonder if it stay that way, or if they would eventually find themselves running into one another. I am hoping that they would. The two of them belong together.

Every page, every chapter will keep reader on edge of the seat. Especially from moment that Jackson jumps from 2009 to 2007. It will keep reader wondering, if he will make it back to 2009 or if he will get stuck in 2007. There were few things that I was confused about while I was reading the book. Some of random jumps that Jackson did confused me because there were no dates and that confused me and I wasn’t sure what was happening. I think the way it shifted between jumps sometimes was confusing and one of reasons that I only gave it 4 stars. I do admit that I liked it much more than I did first time around. It might not be best time traveling book that I read, but it was pretty good, and it will keep your attention. A novel worth checking out.
