Being permanently based in a local New York City high school as an undercover operative has its moments, good and bad, for 16-year-old safecracker Maggie Silver.

Pros: More quality time with her former mark-turned-boyfriend Jesse Oliver and insanely cool best friend, Roux.
Getting to spend quality time with her semi-retired and international spy honorary uncle, Angelo.

Cons: High school and the accompanying cliques, bad lunches, and frustratingly simple locker combinations.

But when Maggie's parents are falsely accused of stealing priceless gold coins, Maggie uses her safecracking skills to try and clear their names.

Too bad it only serves to put her and everyone she loves in danger. Maggie and her "new team" flee to Paris where they must come up with a plan to defeat their former allies.

There is something about spy novels that seems to capture my attention. I had enjoyed the first novel in series, Also Known As which I had read last year and recently re –read. I didn’t think I would like it as much as I did, thought I did enjoy the first book, it wasn’t my favorite. Once I started Going Rogue I feel in love with story within only few pages, and I knew that I would love rest of story. I was right. Going Rogue captured my attention more, and I found myself unable to pull away from story, I finished the book within 24 hours. It’s not often that I enjoy the second book more, but in this case I thought that Going Rogue was so much better that the first one. I was so invested in Maggie’s adventure and curious to see what happens with everyone next. This story pulls you in right from the start.

What I loved about this one, fact that it seemed to have more action going on that first one, there was more going on. To me it felt that Going Rogue was more Spy related novel than Also Known As has been, it had more of my attention. I was afraid for Maggie’s safety as much that Jesse was too, and her parents. Especially when she got stuck in Dominic’s house for over 2 hours. What if she would got hurt? Of course not many 16 year olds can do what Maggie can. I did feel bad for her, once her parents were accused of stealing, everything seemed to go wrong for her, fight with Roux, Jesse, her parents. It’s no wonder that she lost it at some point, I know I wouldn’t be hold it on as long as she has. I’m glad that in end Jesse and Roux stood by her side, I’m glad that she has friends who can help her out, even if she refuses to let them. \

Now Angelo, how can you not love him? I know that I did from Book 1. I loved how he always looked out for her, her family and then her friends. He’s the reason they were able to escape and then get out of Collective without being killed. There need be more people like him out there. I love how he talks to Maggie like she’s an adult, treats her like one. Of course now that they are out of Collective, I can’t help but wonder what are they are going to do now? Collective was the only career that her parents had known. I do hope there is another novel after this one, I want to see what happens with everyone next, what adventures they face next. If Roux reunite with Ames, where Maggie and her family will go now, if they continue the spy business.

Going Rogue is filled with suspense, action, adventure and of course a bit of romance. There won’t be a page that won’t have you on edge of your seat.
