Rule One—Nothing is right, nothing is wrong.
Rule Two—Be careful.
Rule Three—Fight using your legs whenever possible, because they’re the strongest part of your body. Your arms are the weakest.
Rule Four—Hit to kill. The first blow should be the last, if at all possible.
Rule Five—The letters are the law.

Kit takes her role as London’s notorious “Perfect Killer” seriously. The letters and cash that come to her via a secret mailbox are not a game; choosing who to kill is not an impulse decision. Every letter she receives begins with “Dear Killer,” and every time Kit murders, she leaves a letter with the dead body. Her moral nihilism and thus her murders are a way of life—the only way of life she has ever known.

But when a letter appears in the mailbox that will have the power to topple Kit’s convictions as perfectly as she commits her murders, she must make a decision: follow the only rules she has ever known, or challenge Rule One, and go from there.
Katherine Ewell’s Dear Killer is a sinister psychological thriller that explores the thin line between good and evil, and the messiness of that inevitable moment when life contradicts everything you believe.

Dear Killer
was a psychological thriller debut that left me speechless. It was a novel that caught my interest by looking at the cover, right then I had a feeling that it would turn into book that I am going to love. I was right. Despite few of negative comments that I saw about the book. I know that it was a bit of disturbing subject, but at same time it was filled with lots of suspense and action. Not only that but it was also unique, I have read books about murders before but never about a teen serial killer. It was perfect, because nobody would suspect of teen killing all those people, way that Kit did and for so long. I found myself wondering all though the book if she would get caught, or if she will keep getting away with it. Part of me hoped someone would figure out, before other innocent people like Maggie were killed. I wondered if they would put the pieces together. It was a haunting, breath taking debut.

When Kit became friends with Maggie, which took me by surprise since she seemed to kill her other victims not long after receiving letters. All through books, she kept killing other and kept on befriending her. After time I could tell that she grew on liking her, that’s why she killed Michael, because he threatened Maggie. I was sure that at the end she wouldn’t go through it, she wouldn’t kill her. I sure didn’t think that she would kill her on Christmas Eve, with her family inside the house. That’s only reason that she was discovered by Alex, how he put the pieces together. I think if she brought the gift, maybe then she could get away with it. I liked Maggie, I liked that she was a friend that Kit never had, it made me sad when in end she still died. I hoped that would be one murder she wouldn’t commit.

Alex, I liked him from start. He was afraid but he was smart. He put the pieces together, he figured out Kit’s secret. I think he liked her too, that’s why he was upset when he found out the truth, that she used him all this time. He cared about her. It made me sad for him, that’s worst possible way for someone to find out. I believe that she liked him too and that’s why she didn’t kill him, that’s why in the end she confessed, turned herself in. That ending took me by surprise, I was sure that she would end up killing him, just like Maggie. What was different about him? From Maggie. There had be a reason she never wanted him to find out. It made me sad, for both of them, they had established a bond.

Dear Killer is filled with horror, suspense, mystery. There isn’t a page that has you wondering, will she stop? Will she go through it? There isn’t a page that won’t have your intrest, you will find yourself engaged till the last page. One debut you don’t want to miss.
