When Liv Bloom lands an art scholarship at Wickham Hall, it’s her ticket out of the foster system. Liv isn’t sure what to make of the school’s weird traditions and rituals, but she couldn’t be happier. For the first time ever, she has her own studio, her own supply of paints. Everything she could want.

Then she meets Malcolm Astor, a legacy student, a fellow artist, and the one person who’s ever been able to melt her defenses. Liv’s only friend at Wickham, fellow scholarship kid Gabe Nichols, warns her not to get involved, but life is finally going Liv’s way, and all she wants to do is enjoy the ride.

But Liv’s bliss is doomed. Weeks after arriving, she is viciously murdered and, in death, she discovers that she’s the latest victim of a dark conspiracy that has claimed many lives. Cursed with the ability to see the many ghosts on Wickham’s campus, Gabe is now Liv’s only link to the world of the living. To Malcolm.

Together, Liv, Gabe, and Malcolm fight to expose the terrible truth that haunts the halls of Wickham. But Liv must fight alone to come to grips with the ultimate star-crossed love.

Haunting. Beautifully written. There wasn’t a page that I didn’t enjoy in Liv, Forever it’s a novel that pulls you in from the first page. I have always loved books about ghosts, it’s always fascinating to me, so moment I found out it was about ghosts, I grabbed it. Storyline was what only captured my attention, the cover and title did as well. Look at the cover, the girl is floating though it does look like she jumping a bit too, looking out into the distance. The cover itself has a mysterious aspect; it would make anyone wonder what’s going on, where she’s looking and why she’s floating. I love the title Liv, Forever and when I came across it, I did wonder the reason for title but once I read the story, I understood. It fits. Even if you haven’t read the summary, the cover and title will drag you in. Amy Talkington created a suspenseful, thrilling debut novel and I look forward see what she comes up with next.

Olivia, there were something about her that made it hard, not to like her. I hated how she was treated when she arrived to Wickman Hall, like an outcast. It felt like they were already wanting get rid of her. It’s sad that she only lasted few weeks, before her murder. She just found someone she liked for first time, who liked her back. Plus she made a friend and finally started to feel like she belonged. From the moment that she was killed, I did wonder who killed her and why. Gabe seemed to suspect Malcolm but I had hard time believing he would kill her. I saw how hard it was on him when she died, how much grief there was. He loved her, no matter what others seemed to think. Liv, Malcolm and Gabe made an interesting team, considering Gabe didn’t trust him and they didn’t agree on half of things. Honestly I didn’t think they make it till end, without killing one another. They stood by each other, to try and discover the truth.

Liv, Forever didn’t have as much romance, but then she was a ghost. The scenes between Malcolm and Liv were sweet but also heartbreaking; I could tell how much he wanted to be there, to hold her. I can’t imagine having someone you love dead. Malcolm was strong but I think having her ghost there, helped him. I am kind of curious now, now that Liv gone if Malcolm would be able to move past it. I enjoyed that there weren’t love triangles in this one, it made it different from the other stories. It was Malcolm and Liv, nobody else. The mystery aspect of the story was the most interesting, the one that captured my attention the most. There was so much suspense and it was descriptive that I saw myself picturing everything that was going on. As novel progressed, got harder for me to put it down, I needed to know what happened and why it happened. It was unlike any ghost story that I read.

Another aspect of story that I enjoyed, when each of the girls told their story, how they were murdered. It was interesting because each story was different. I was curious to find out why it was girls, who kept on getting murdered and how they could possibly not think of themselves like that? That’s one messed up tradition and a tradition that everyone seemed to want to follow. If you love ghost stories, with mystery and a romance added to the mix, Liv, Forever is that book. You won’t want to put it down. Give it a try.
