Deb Caletti did it again. Even if I only read 3 books by Caletti this year, I loved them all. I’m already in love with her work, her storyline. What I enjoy about her novels was how different the storyline are, at least from the books that I read so far. The Secret Life Of Prince Charming , was unlike any book that I read before. A road trip with her sister, half sister to return stuff her dad took from former girlfriends? That’s unique. I knew I was going love this book, the moment that I read the summary. I ended up loving it even more then I thought I would. There was everything in this book: Family, relationship, road trip, drama. I have feeling that she will be an author I love, for years to come.

  GOODREADS SUMMARY
Maybe it was wrong, or maybe impossible, but I wanted the truth to be one thing. One solid thing.

Quinn is surrounded by women who have had their hearts broken. Between her mother, her aunt, and her grandmother, Quinn hears nothing but cautionary tales. She tries to be an optimist -- after all, she's the dependable one, the girl who never makes foolish choices. But when she is abruptly and unceremoniously dumped, Quinn starts to think maybe there really are no good men.

It doesn't help that she's gingerly handling a renewed relationship with her formerly absent father. He's a little bit of a lot of things: charming, selfish, eccentric, lazy...but he's her dad, and Quinn's just happy to have him around again. Until she realizes how horribly he's treated the many women in his life, how he's stolen more than just their hearts. Determined to, for once, take action in her life, Quinn joins forces with the half sister she's never met and the little sister she'll do anything to protect. Together, they set out to right her father's wrongs...and in doing so, begin to uncover what they're really looking for: the truth.

I loved the title. If I didn’t actually read the summary, I would never guess that the Prince Charming would turn out to be Quinn’s father, it would never crossed my mind. Well once I found what he does and how women always seem to be around him, in a way I could see it. Despite the amount of women that he was with, I saw him more of player then Prince Charming. But at same time I could see him being Prince Charming, the way he seemed to sweep women off their feet, there had be something in him, for them to fall for him. After reading the book, I could see how it fit the book, the secret life, the women, the items that he took from each of them. It fits the storyline well.

Now Quinn, I liked her right from the start. Of course I wished that she wouldn’t defend her dad as much that she did. To me despite what he did, to her it didn’t matter, but all that seemed to mattered is that he loved them. Even if he put her down or didn’t treat her right, it seemed like she didn’t want to see that. To me it felt like she wanted his constant approval, love. I found myself feeling sad for her at end, when her dad drifted from her after she returned all items that he stole; I actually wanted to cry with her. But I saw how she changed through the book; I saw that she saw her dad for who he really was. Though I could see her struggling, to believe all those women when they told story of how Barry treated them, that she refused to believe it in beginning. I was kind of glad, that she was one who wanted do right thing, by returning everything that he had taken. It takes a lot of guts to do something like that. I know that I would never be able to do something like that. That takes courage.

I loved Quinn’s relationship with her little sister Sprout. I could see how much Quinn cared for her. To me, it actually seemed like they were more of friends then sisters, just by the way that they treated one another, even if they had their occasional fights. Then there’s Jake, their relationship was different and that’s what I liked about it. The fact that she first met him, she saw him naked, I found that pretty funny. I kind of have feeling that’s why she kept thinking about him so much, after that. But I loved the fact how sweet Jake was her, despite the fact that she saw him naked. Way he complemented her, held her hand. He’s the kind of guy, I don’t mind finding one day. Jake seemed right for her, while her ex, didn’t. I knew there was something fishy about him from start. I was happy to see that she found someone. I was glad that they kept seeing each other, after the trip.

Now the letters, from each of the women that Barry been with. I loved those, I loved reading about their past relationship, how being with Barry affected them or changed them. By end of the book, I felt like I got to know each one of them. I felt connection with them. I loved that Quinn’s letter was added towards end of the book, it put a nice touch, just the right ending to an amazing book. It was one of books I was glad I finally got to check out.

If you are fan of Caletti books, and even if you haven’t read one but love Young Adult, Romance, Road trip, be sure to check this book out. Once you do, you won’t be able to put down. Caletti is one of most talented authors and worth checking out.
