Wow. Catching Fire , was amazing, I loved it as much as the first novel. Though to be honest, I had enjoyed reading this novel a bit more then The Hunger Games. To me, it seemed like it has more action, right from the start of the book. There wasn’t a single scene in this book that I didn’t enjoy. The more I read, the harder it got for me to put the novel down. I can see why there are so many positive reviews on this novel, on the series. It makes me wish that I have read this series sooner. Collins has an amazing talent, creativity. I can’t wait to read Mockingjay, to see what happens with everyone next, especially Katiniss, Peeta and Gale.

GOODREADS SUMMARY
Sparks are igniting, flames are spreading and the Capitol wants revenge.
Against all odds, Katniss has won the Hunger Games. She and fellow District 12 tribute Peeta Mellark are miraculously still alive. Katniss should be relieved, happy even. After all, she has returned to her family and longtime friend, Gale. Yet nothing is the way Katniss wishes it to be. Gale holds her at an icy distance. Peeta has turned his back on her completely. And there are whispers of a rebellion against the Capitol - a rebellion that Katniss and Peeta may have helped create.

Much to her shock, Katniss has fueled an unrest she's afraid she cannot stop. And what scares her even more is that she's not entirely convinced she should try. As time draws near for Katniss and Peeta to visit the districts on the Capitol's cruel Victory Tour, the stakes are higher than ever. If they can't prove, without a shadow of a doubt, that they are lost in their love for each other, the consequences will be horrifying.

The emotions, the action in this book were amazing. I loved everything about it. I found myself to be able to picture everything easily and actually feel what Katiniss was feeling. When Gale got caught and got hurt, I found myself actually feeling the pain, the horror that she felt. Also when she got thrown back into the Games, I could feel the fear as well. I felt like I was actually there with Katiniss, in her shoes and feeling everything that she was feeling. Though this was Fantasy novel, her emotions were so real and in way, it made book more realistic to me. Same with all the action within the book, I felt like I was there with them, when they got thrown into the games, when they were fighting, side by side with each other. I found myself rooting for them, hoping for them to make it through it.

I never thought that it was possible to truly hate a fictional character, but that is just what I felt for President Snow. Especially since he was threatening Katiniss. I am curious why he wasn’t convinced that her and Peeta were in love, even after he proposed to her, though it was staged, it made me curious if he knew that it was, and that’s why he wasn’t convinced. I just wish that he would leave them alone, but of course I knew that it wouldn’t be the case. Of course that made me dislike him even more.

Peeta & Gale: I knew that Gale would kiss Katiniss at some point, I had a feeling he had feelings for her, right from the start. I just didn’t think that he would actually go through, after the Games, after he saw her and Peeta together. I do like Gale, but I am still Team Peeta. To me, it feels like Peeta and Katiniss have more connection, more chemistry then her and Gale, even though she tries deny it. Despite that, I know that she truly cares about him. Otherwise why would she risk her life, and make sure that Peeta would make it, in the games. Even if they were pretending for the others, I know there was actual feeling for one another. With Gale I didn’t see that. I could tell Gale cared for her, but somehow I got feeling that she didn’t care for him, the way he did for her. I am curious to see who she will end up in the end, I am hoping it’s Peeta.

This is a great read. If you haven’t check out The Hunger Games, be sure to pick up. This is one series you won’t regret reading.
