I love TV Show, Gossip Girl and I had wanted to read the books for a while now. I heard from a friend of mine that books are completely opposite from TV show, so I wanted to see what was different. I wasn’t disappointed. I know that most people prefer books over show but I love both. When reading this book, it was like reading completely new story. It was a short book so it only took me a bit to finish it. There wasn’t single moment that I didn’t enjoy though, there was always something happening.

Gossip Girl it mostly talks about Blair, Serena, Dan, Jenny, Nate and all of their struggles. This book consists of Serena coming back after being gone in boarding school for while, and that’s when the rumors, the gossip start especially since Blair, Serena’s best friend wasn’t aware that she was coming back. However once Serena gets back, things are not way as they used to be, especially between her and Blair. It seems as nobody wants to do anything with Serena and she can’t quite figure out why.

This book had a lot of drama but that’s what made this book good. I liked the writing style of the book as well; I liked to see what each of the characters were doing, seeing. I kind of felt sorry for Serena though after everyone ditched her but was glad when her & Dan bonded though. Even thought I wasn’t happy fact that she had slept with Blair’s boyfriend, I still don’t think she deserved to be treated the way she was. As for Blair, I couldn’t blame her for blowing her off, especially after she found out about her & Nate. I probably would have done the same thing.

I wasn’t fond of Chuck at all in the novel; he seemed even more of an ass that the beginnings of TV show. I was actually afraid that he would end up hurting somebody soon. I like Chuck in show, but in the novel so far I don’t. It was interesting to see how pretty much every character was different in the book, even the adults. Even though it was the first book, I already in love with this book. I can’t wait to read the rest, to see what happens with everyone. It’s type of book that is hard to put down once you pick it up.
